Ireland No. 1 in Europe - yet again. GHGs rose faster (+3.2%) in Ireland in Q3 2025 than ANYWHERE else in Europe.
#Climate action, my eye.
“Says Hogan: “If it is safe enough to eat, it should be okay for footpaths.””
We’d like to challenge Councillor Hogan to drink a glass of Glyphosphate then!
Last year, we urged the Irish government to introduce a nationwide ban on fossil fuel advertising.
They chose not to act.
But across the globe, cities and countries are stepping up—reclaiming the narrative and taking bold action.
Ireland, meanwhile, remains a climate laggard.

HE IRISH TIMES Sir, - What connects floods, flying and the Minister for Climate, Energy, Environment and Transport, Darragh O'Brien? Flooding is increasing due to climate change. Flying is the single most detrimental activity in terms of climate effects. O'Brien wants to increase flying by removing the passenger cap at Dublin Airport. Is this what's called joined-up thinking? - Yours, etc, CELESTINE O'REILLY Foxrock.
Connect the dots. Flooding. Flying.

So-called Minister of "Climate" has just made a choice. That it's more important to increase flights, than to protect ourselves against flooding, homes uninsurable, people worldwide loosing their livelihoods, a tightrope with tipping points to world wide chaos. www.goloudplayer.com/podcasts/new...

This is not journalism. It is head in the sand reporting with a generous helping of free corporate PR.

17.01.2026 08:48 — 👍 40 🔁 5 💬 1 📌 0Delaying the 2026 Climate Action Plan is deeply concerning. Efforts are already way off-track & the CAP is the main tool for closing the delivery gap this decade. Saying we must wait for post-2030 carbon budgets is conceptually backwards - delay now makes future targets harder and more expensive.
