The Devers deal may well turn out to be a net positive years down the road, but there is no argument for making them better in’25, aside from “vibes.”

I used to go to a lot of games in New Britain, CT 20+ years ago, and I ran into a lady there who was traveling with the Mets AA team, and her job was to help players, specifically the Latin players, get acclimated to life in the US.

So I would imagine every team has people who have similar jobs.

We’ll see what the offseason brings. My fear is that ownership just sees the rising attendance numbers and is happy with that.

I miss the days of Larry Lucchino, who would be motivated by last night and would be pushing to go all out this winter.

I will say though, between Jazz and Fernando Cruz and Ben Rice, and the continuous Aaron Judge slobbering, that this series reignited my Yankee hatred that had been kinda dormant the past few years.

I’m all aboard the Mariners wagon at this point. Wouldn’t mind seeing them get to their first World Series. Anyone but the Yankees, Dodgers, or Jays.

Removing the most accomplished hitter from the lineup midseason and doing fuck all to replace him was certainly a choice. Completely optional, btw.

The team was good enough this year to bring enough fans into the ballpark, and even had a nice little sellout streak.

That’s as much as Henry, Werner, and Kennedy care about. Why spend money when the kids will be just good enough to make the team interesting and get people in the ballpark?

On the bright side, it’s less than 72 hours from Sunday Night Football so I can watch another MVP golden boy Josh Allen get a tongue bath on national tv when his team stomps the shit out of mine…
