I actually watched his series out of sequence. starting with the Aldean video and then going backward. Even parachuting in, it was a blast to watch. Holds up well on a rewatch, too.

Finnerty's What Makes This Song Stink series in general is fucking great. The amount of lore he's stuffed into nine episodes is pretty mind boggling.

But this episode, as both critique of the song and a rumination on aging, is just masterful.

Given how many times Aramis and Arez have wrestled, I figured the latter was on Tony's radar. I'm happy that Arez gets the same shot that his eternal rival received.

Production is pretty murky, but it fits the subject matter. Sadly, the subject matter seems as relevant today as it did back then.

Glad you showed some love for Fields of Fire. Was my favorite song off The Crossing when it first came out, and it still holds up. It actually reached #52 on the Top 100, and had it been marginally more successful it might have been just as beloved as its followup.
