This could be my Twix, but they've never been tested.

I'd like to think that if they were they would pass.

I've loved every baseball movie I've ever watched, but I can't watch an actual baseball game.

I cooked burgers on mine a couple nights ago and forgot to turn it off... Came out to an empty hopper in the morning. There's always a new way to be an idiot.

The thing about Lu Dort's high arcing shot is that it allows plenty of time for the crowd to get into the "LUUUU!" Cheer.

Wanna do a bit of crowdsourcing here.

I want to put together a montage of best signs and videos from the marches today.

Send me your favorite!

For a Student Who Used AI to Write a Paper

by Joseph Fasano

Now I let it fall back
in the grasses.
I hear you. I know
this life is hard now.
I know your days are precious
on this earth.
But what are you trying
to be free of?
The living? The miraculous
task of it?
Love is for the ones who love the work.

It's final paper season.

Agreed! I find them more difficult to deal with during non-sleeping times, but everything else I've tried lets my head flop around too much when I'm trying to sleep.

Elon Muskโ€™s Team Now Has Access to Treasuryโ€™s Payments System Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave Mr. Muskโ€™s representatives at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency a powerful tool to monitor and potentially limit government spending.

I want to spell out the basic reason itโ€™s so dangerous for Elon to have control of the U.S. payments system. It may seem like a technical matter, but the dynamics are simple. 1/x

There's no easy answer for health care, but it's obvious this current system is broken.

The auth code in question was 471417, which was extremely satisfying to type on a 10-key.

Smoking meats is weird because you have to make choices like, "Do I want to stay cozy and warm in my bed for 10 more minutes or do i want to feed my friends delicious food in 10-12 hours."

My Vizio TV with a remote that has channel up and down buttons can be used to change YouTube TV channels. The number pad is useless, though.

At least holding down the OK button on most remotes will change back to the last channel watched.

I was flipping through the guide and saw that they were honoring Arturo Sandoval at the Kennedy Center Honors tonight. Caught it just in time to hear A Mis Abuelos. Absolutely masterful performance and I'm definitely going to dig out the Danzon CD for a listen this week.

I work with a couple of former policemen and they were talking about the evil people they used to have to deal with regularly. I successfully resisted the urge to ask if people were born wicked or if they have wickedness thrust upon them.

I went caroling with some kids at church to the homes of some of the elderly members, and it was such a joyous event. The kids loved singing, the people adored us being there. A light of hope in a weary world!

I miss being able to sleep in on Saturday.

But I'm thankful that getting up on days when I can't (or shouldn't) sleep in is not nearly as difficult as it used to be either.

Southern Gรผrl is still the highlight for me, but The Killer Inside, Porcelain, and This Time of Year are great. The only track I don't like is Coyote, but I'm only casually listening, but analysing lyrics or anything. Maybe it gets better with a closer listen.

Somehow this album is pine trees and a summer day that isn't overwhelmingly hot and humid. It kind of feels like I'm sitting on the porch swing at our house in South Carolina. Which is a little weird since we moved away from there in 1986 and this album came out in 1995.
