The Hades I excuse of “testing security” made me roll my eyes, even though a lot of fans praised it. i guess they took the wrong lesson from that.

The thing is that they seemed set up to do that pretty well with Hades II, with Melinoe being a nightmare god and hypnos being conspicuously asleep in the base area! Hypnos puts Chronos into a dream, Melinoe is invading as a nightmare to keep him distracted/tormented so he doesnt escape.

I really like both of them in terms of gameplay and mechanics, still, though neither is perfect. The plot in Hades I was gutless on some levels too, but not as bad as Hades II.
