Itโs time to show our Minnesota values - correct the inequality raining down from the federal government by taxing the rich and providing healthcare in our state.

We're coming together across our differences to create a stronger future for Minnesota. No more billionaires & people over profits. We can do it, together. #solidarity

Rep. Kim Hicks on the largest transfer of wealth from the bottom to the top in our history, and the stakes for people with disabilities.
We need a system that values people over profit.
โI believe in the people in this country - if we open our eyes up as a society.โ
In Oro Valley, AZ, Lisa Levine, a retired Army captain and educator, says that America can overcome if we open our eyes to how the rich and corporations have captured our politics and made us so unequal and divided.

We can make our state better for everyone.
Weโre in the wealthiest country in the world, yet we spend remarkably little on public goods and services.
Other countries have figured out how to take care of their people. Itโs time we build the political strength to take care of each other.

Weโre all supposed to get services for our tax dollars - thatโs why government exists.
A shared pool of resources. Billionaires are doing everything they can to take that away from us. They donโt care about you.
They plan to rob you of healthcare and increase your daily costs, while handing even more wealth and power to billionaires.
Send this to friends and relatives that are misunderstanding what this bill is.
Be aware that cuts to services we all rely on is simply a choice - and we could be asking the wealthiest to pay their fair share instead.
Weโve been through this before.
We can make different choices.
Canโt believe we have to say it.
Public funding for public needs - not corporate interests.
As the federal admin is set up to tear Medicaid apart - harming millions of Minnesotans - the House GOP is spending time casting doubt on Medicaid. Rep. Hicks is right - the agreed HHS bill addresses their concerns, but theyโre holding it up because they distrust public agencies.

We could have strong services that are worth our money, we just need to get past the kneejerk โtaxes are badโ instinct weโve been taught.
Advocate for our elected officials to fund the society you want to live in. Advocate for revenue.
Those developed countries with fair tax systems - that ask the rich and corporations to pay their fair share - have quality, public healthcare, well-funded schools, free college, stable infrastructure, less income inequality, and more.

12.05.2025 18:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0By taxing the 14 largest social media companies that operate in Minnesota - mining our data - we would be holding them accountable to what they truly owe while building a stronger state budget that can withstand Trump & Elonโs disastrous cuts.
12.05.2025 18:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Social Media is the Big Tobacco of our generation - harming our public health (especially our kids) while shirking responsibility.
Rather than cutting essential public services, legislators can tax the wealthiest corporations what they truly owe to our shared society.
For too long, private tax lobbyists have blocked common-sense legislation that would allow all of us to have less headaches around tax season.
They continue to exert power over electeds to make profit off of a system that should be free.

Real men don't complain about the taxes they have to pay to live in a fair and just society.
Our public structures are underfunded, and struggling even more under the Trump cuts.
Minnesota can succeed for generations to come if we support progressive tax proposals like this one, that pushes the 14 biggest social media companies to pay their fair share.
