My sentiments towards working in higher education are growing more negative over time, and I don't love that as a feeling. Not sure if that means leaving the field or finding another institution. But seeing others make plans is making me think maybe my time is approaching.

It's a strange feeling, because I know why. Stagnant pay, upward mobility slowly seeming less feasible, and Winter/Spring quarters where our limits were really tested and we're all just burnt out. Tbh it's a ship I see passing and I'm starting to want to board it.

when I first started my job ~3 years ago, I joined on after a small wave of my office losing people to pursue work elsewhere. Now most people at my level or above are either leaving or making plans to leave and it's a weird experience.

gutted that my PC's power supply is failing right before Wildgate comes out. Took some out of office time and was looking forward to playing that and other games for a needed extended break. just kinda sucks!

started my day with a mead and making my bed, it was mental health day in my warband so i got brunch with L'zrak and we killed a few elves, then i met up with Devgor and kayak'd the Blood River it was actually pretty dope, then we raided Elf City for drinks and bites, we also got a Orc War sooo yeah

if you have joy in your heart you will still enjoy it when that eventually happens, but you can also enjoy it now

Kagurabachi just keeps hitting higher highs for me. Chihiro willingly shouldering the weight of the past, but also letting his compassion for Samurai & Iori to save them both in this bloodshed, coupled with his own loss, genuinely is so incredible. This mixed with amazing paneling and art.

every time I read a new chapter of Kagurabachi I want there to be a spectacle fighter based on it or something. please not an arena fighter.

i hop back on here every once in awhile and usually within 10 minutes I see some insane discourse over the most benign thing and then call it. there's no social media that doesn't make me want to tear my hair out anymore.

one of my favorite occurrences is when somebody shares something Chicago related and I can be like “oh yeah I know where that’s at it fucking sucks”

any billionaire buying Wikipedia would be a tragedy, "on the good side" or not. we need to stop divvying up all the important institutions along billionaires and then relying on their good graces — look how it's gone so far.

On the surface Capcom’s approach to Okami with bringing back Clover and Kamiya suggests the right approach in that front? I think you have to bring the right people in and do it out of love.

A few different podcasts I’ve listened that are industry journalists have speculated were going to see older IPs making a comeback. This is in the wake of Onimusha and Okami announcements and SEGA reviving older franchises, but the gist I got was that execs see the value in reviving some beloved IPs

maybe ill replay Pentiment or finish another playthrough of NieR or something. I don't want to be so annoyed after having played a game and I can't remember the last time i outwardly disliked one this much

generally think people are overly harsh towards Gen Z/Alpha and lots of complaints towards them are a different flavor of criticism thrown at younger generations, but if they do bring skinny fit clothes back again I’m joining the side of old people.
