11 very anti-gay preachers who were caught doing very gay things Have you ever wondered whether, in fact, some of those really anti-gay preacher and politicians are actually over-compensating?

Or they just think homo- and transphobia will shield their own transgressions. Think of all those homophobic pastors who (it turns out) have same-sex lovers (bit.ly/42zD93s), those moral policemen who secretly cross-dress (looking at you, J Edgar Hoover).

I wonder sometimes if some of the people who make the most noise around these "issues" have unresolved "transgressive" feelings that they've been too ashamed to express. So they turn them around and project them outwards; their internalized shame is alchemized into external hate.

I've never been much bothered or threatened by people who see themselves outside the arbitrary and false binaries of cis/queer or male/female.

Today's British Supreme Court ruling today will, eventually (in my lifetime, I hope) be overturned. It is bad science, it is bad law, and it is needlessly intrusive. Maybe because I grew up reading science fiction (which wrote about issues around sex and gender decades ago)
