There's a lot of Admiral Ackbar gifs on here saying it's a trap but my Mrs would do exactly this and has done in the past. Not this exact scenario of course but She can appreciate something nice and knows I can too. It's innocent, meaningless fun for a moment then we move on.

His expression is in response to finding out an overlooked detail of life in a backwards universe.

I was in B&M earlier today and they were playing Christmas music. I use the word music in its absolute loosest terms. It sounded like either the most formulaic, royalty free crap or terrible AI slop. Either way, it was awful.

So, I've been having a bit of a watch of the og star trek films. Just watching The Voyage Home and something occurred to me. When Kirk and the whale lady drop Spock off in the park and then go off to lunch...who beams him up? There's nobody on the ship.

L-R Sulu, McCoy, Scotty and Chekhov on the bridge of the stolen Enterprise. Scott is wearing uniform whereas the others are in civilian attire. Sulu is wearing a somewhat traditional Japanese style suit and looking very dapper. McCoy is wearing what looks like a space rancher's outfit and for some reason Chekhov has decided to dress as a public schoolboy from the Victorian era who died under mysterious and tragic circumstances.

I just watched the utterly sublime Aliens again for like the 900th time. To me it's a perfect sequel. I also love all the low tech solutions for the sfx and props. For example, the buttons used at the end to close the airlock are from a fruity, the sort you'd find in the Lamb and Flag down the road.

If it made somebody's life better, it would be too expensive. If it dehumanises someone then cost is no object.
