I’m beginning to sound like a broken record and I’m really sorry about that bit I feel like I need to say this again -

Farage is the product of the US far right & Russian money aimed at destabilising this country & destabilising Europe.

@impq.bsky.social One for Michael for a future question. Dan never looks at this so you will be safe.

It has a lot of fans. I am one of them. But when I put it on a pub jukebox one of our number reacted very badly against it. He couldn't believe it was McCartney.

Great email from M'Lud. I also had a Helloween phase. Probably Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part I is the one I'd go for (Part 2 being a bit much). Liked Live in the UK as well. But not listened to them since about 1989 though.

A prayer meeting of bright happy wondrous snowdrops, with a land of cold mud and skeleton trees in the background.

Snowdrops in this endlessly watery weather are like characters from The Bed Sitting Room: ragtag remnants of a West End theatre troupe, putting on half an Ayckbourn to a land sodden with fallout.

I'm not fond of when grass is ripped up and replaced with a load of pebbles either.

On seeing this I thought "I don't remember a Halo Jones game". Seems it was completed but never released because Piranha went bust. Shame.

I've just been looking at it and it does indeed have that flick book thing in the bottom corner- it's quite good! It also seems to have a bit of heavy metal content so it is at least tangentially relevant.

Really? I thought Michael was radiating contempt and lack of interest when you mentioned it. But yeah go on then, it will be the next book I read and I'll let you know what I think. But be warned I'm no FR Leavis- my reviews tend be along the lines of "it was ok and not that long/a bit too long".

The book How to be a Wally by Paul Manning in front of the book Fifty Years of the Beast by Joe Shooman

Owner of two books mentioned in this ep. (Oh, and Bachelor Boys (with no vomit stain)) I got Wally when I was 9 or 10. I was much too young for it... for some reason it has never been chucked out. I've been meaning to re-read it to see what I make of it now I'm much too old for it.

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

HOUSE SPARROW Wherever man has his dwelling there the house sparrow is sure to be found. It is sociable, a "flock" bird even in the nesting season. It is bold and mischievous, and when the corn is ripe it leaves its town or village home, and descends in devouring crowds on the grain, and does much damage. It nests in buildings and in holes in trees, and will often take over the mud nest of house martins and the holes of sand martins, occasionally evicting the rightful owners. Two broods, and often three are reared in the year.

Wiby - Search Engine for the Classic Web Wiby is a search engine for older style pages, lightweight and based on a subject of interest. Building a web more reminiscent of the early internet.

I've posted this before, diamond way to waste any amount of time you like. But fuck it makes me so, so sad about the way things turned out. Might be nostalgia for my younger days and some of the amazing online communities I've been part of too, mind, but fucking hell. Life is shit.
