Great write up, congrats on surviving 11 days in Scholler! Sounds like you got the full experience. And you're right, you can't see it all in one week, it's impossible IMO. Hopefully you had a bike to get back and forth as that makes it much easier! Hope to see you next year!

When your mom/pop get to that age that you are pretty much taking care of them & they want to go to the ER for every little thing, please relay how awful the ER is to sit in for hours on end as a non-priority patient. It’s not fun & usually not necessary. Mine called me AFTER she was already here. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Talked to a Harrier pilot a few weeks back at OSH. He said there’s only 26 single seaters left and 2 of the family models left of which they brought one of them to the show. We talked about how much work it was to actually sunset a fleet. Doesn’t sound like he was looking forward to it!

weird how the guy born into obscene wealth, bailed out repeatedly, allowed to fail upwards forever until he fell ass-backwards into the presidency, and then was declared by the Supreme Court to be a Very Special Boy Who Can Crime Forever never stops whining about how everything is rigged against him

Interesting GOES satellilte image of the 6 major fires now burning out west including the Dragon Bravo in Arizona near the Grand Canyon, the Monroe Canyon and Deer Creek fires in Utah, the Turner Gulch and South Rim fires in Colorado and the Middle Mesa and Laguna fires burning in New Mexico.

It’s important to note how EAA calculated those #’s Some are based on hard data while others take creative liberties. The attendance # is based on potential entries per day, IOW someone like myself is counted 7 times bc I bought a weekly entry. I only attended 4 of the 7 days. The real # is lower.

#OSH25 Last one for tonight. A rare P-51A model powered by an Allison engine which helped it weigh a full 1000 pounds less than its D model sibling. The result was a fast racing aircraft which is reflected here in this beautiful scheme from the post WWII racing era.

#OSH25 Textron showed up with a lot of hardware this year. From helos to Citations, there was a lot to see in their display. They even parked their Denali directly across from a Pilatus PC-12, its direct competitor. They also brought a production Sky Courier to the show this year in FedEx colors.

#OSH25 Pratt & Whitney brought their very rare 747SP model to Oshkosh this year for static display on Boeing Plaza. Used to test new engines by mounting them on the side of the upper fuselage, she was a welcome addition to the show.

#OSH25 Goodyear Corp. is celebrating 100 years of airship operations this year! Wingfoot 1 even carries a retro paint job as part of the celebrations. To have not one but two of their Zeppelin built airships present at Oshkosh all week was a special treat! They moored at Pioneer Field each day.

#OSH25 This is the future whether or not the purists want to admit it. And they have major financial backing already. This was only a mockup but according to their spokesperson, this vehicle isn’t far off. VFR only certification is their initial goal to expand from there. Many redundancies built in.

#OSH25 If you come to Oshkosh, be prepared to walk, a lot. This was pretty typical for the week.

#OSH25 More P-51’s from Tuesday evening during the golden hour. Slightly edited with a filter this row of Mustangs commanded my attention!

#OSH25 The best time IMO to wander around looking at aircraft is definitely in the evening, especially during the golden hour. I managed a decent shot of this Mustang on Tuesday evening.

#OSH25 This one caught my eye in the Vintage parking area. It’s a 1929 Fairchild 71, something I’ve never seen before and one of only 4 known to still exist. It was restored in 2014 and looks like it just came out of the Fairchild factory just last week. Simply stunning aircraft inside and out!

#OSH25 The weather this year was mostly hot and muggy. During the week the storms mostly held off except for Thursday evening as I was packing up and leaving. On my way out of the grounds as the storm was rolling in I managed one last shot, my final OSH shot of the Goodyear Zeppelin, Wingfoot Two.

#OSH25 may have ended but now it’s time for the best of my shots.

We’ll start with this edited shot of a North American F-86 placed nicely in front of a Douglas C-54D in Boeing Plaza.

Could be an image from the 1950’s if you didn’t know any better.
