And now she has the audacity to mention free speech while failing to take responsibility for it.

It’s been a privilege to serve with her during her term in office, and she has set the bar very high indeed.

And congratulations to Cllr Pauline Hubbard on being elected as Deputy Mayor. I look forward to working with Cllr Hubbard over the next Civic Year.

…and ensure Alsager Town Council continues to be a strong voice for residents and to provide good quality local services.

How Vance or anyone from the Trump Administration can lecture anyone on free speech and democracy is beyond me.

They tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election, dismiss views they oppose as “fake news” or “woke”, and are siding with Putin’s regime.

Let’s not forget benefit changes and the botched expensive move to universal credit has claimed the lives of over 120,000 people.

Hopefully there will be further scrutiny of the bill with amendments at committee and we can see what the final bill will look like at the third reading.

Disappointed with the result today as I believe strongly that the current bill risks the most vulnerable people in our country.
But there was a high standard of debate by MPs with careful thought behind each position taken on both sides.
A debate the Commons can be proud of.
