It was soooo bad. I couldnt agree more with Jessie Genders vid about 4 & 1/2 brain cells. That ep was Code Of Honor 2. I hope the theory that it was the writers strike that made S3 suck so hard is true. But tbh I didnt hate the documentary ep.

And to be clear, I don't "hate" the show. In fact there are aspects about it that I enjoy very much that have nothing to do with being like TOS or DS9.

I just hate it when people tell me what I think and feel because it's easier & lazier to just see their own categories as "how things simply are."

I'm saying I have problems with SFA that have NOTHING to do with it being "new" or "old," or irrelevant things that folks are losing their mind over. And EVERYTHING I say is being shoved into an "old trek" or "new trek" box as if I can't think for myself.

And I think you're oversimplifying things because it's easier than reading more into anything beyond eras.

Does it have to be nothing more than how it's "old trek" or "new trek"? Can't there be other aspects to it that can be shared irrelevant to new and old?

I want to argue that I loved seasons 1 & 2 of SNW and hated season 3, but I'm afraid it's just going to be squashed into a nice flat 1 dimensional spectrum of "well 1 & 2 was like old trek and 3 was more like new trek" as if no other measurements can be made.

True, but I would argue that Lower Decks and Prodigy have things in common with TNG & Voyager, things which all four of those shows don't have in common with Discovery & SFA. I can't put my finger on it, but that distinction is clear, and quite irrelevant to glasses or wheelchairs.

Also you can blow up Megaton after Roy takes over, and he says he's actually ok with it.

The whole Tenpenny thing was as New Vegas as 3 ever got - where there's no actual good ending because life is more complicated than that. Also I guess you could argue Herbert was "complicit" by living there.

I partly agree, partly disagree.

I feel SFA misses the mark in ways Prodigy & Lower Decks never did. Wheelchairs, glasses, & bare feet however can, with good writing, be explained. Clutching pearls over that is dumb. I'm still watching, but in the same way I still watched TNG after Code Of Honor.
