Cats and other animals, even though they will break my heart. Gardening, mainly for food. Habs, they used to be good, really. Miami Dolphins, finally on the upswing. Notre Dame, at least until Bowl season.

I seriously went off Bond films by the end of Moore's run. They were reaching Batman level camp/cartoonishness. I mean the 1966 Batman film!

US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

This is a famously messy Norwegian biathlete who was banned in 2023 from the Biathlon World Cup because he accidentally fired his competition rifle in his hotel room (he was also teary and apologetic then)

a Norwegian man crying on air while being interviewed, with his biathlon stats besides him

In the interview with NRK, he first started by thanking everyone who has helped him on the path to his first individual Olympic medal.

And then – unprompted – he made an admission:

– And then there's someone I wanted to share it with who might not be watching today. Six months ago I met the love of my life. The most beautiful and kindest person in the world. Three months ago I made my biggest mistake and cheated on her, and I told her about it a week ago. It's been the worst week of my life, he says tearfully in the interview.

Max Naumov with a spellbinding performance here at the Olympics.

Both of his parents were killed in that tragic plane crash about a year ago.

His dad told him to be resilient in one of their final conversations. And here he is. Holding a photo of them after his skate. My goodness.

Follow up: historic best jerseys for each country.
Thought we were getting that after seeing a better France jersey.
Would have preferred that you used better photos -- especially as opposed to tweets, even if from the teams themselves. e.g. have to watch a vid to see SUI.
Agree with CAN criticisms.

I say we drag Gretzky back into this. It would bring me great joy knowing that it hurts his feelings that many Canadians hate him for being pro-trump. Some are new to it, but I'm an old time Gretzky-hater.

The best thing about this is how it'll remind Canadians what a POS Trump's buddy, Gretzky, is/has always been.

people's rectums. Why aren't we
removing British objects instead?
Was Brexit all for nothing?

I've seen this mentioned more than once now. Do people not realize this is only the third Mixed Doubles Curling event?

Of the seven competing nations, not counting Russia, in the first event in 2018, only Norway (who had to beat China in a tiebreaker game that year) has made the semifinals since.

My Zoe doesn't normally get matted. But she did recently, and my attempts to de-mat her made it worse, much worse. Vet had to give her a de-matting shave, on both sides.

I owed her so many treats.

No. Only top 4 advance.
If Canada wins their last three, they should avoid the tiebreakers.
If not, it's the head-to-head records of the tied teams.
If there is still a tie, then it's (lowest) average Last Stone Draw distance -- which Canada hasn't been very good at.

Been meaning to ask, I remember when countries, especially non-traditional winter sport ones, were first starting their bobsled programs, they would buy the elite programs' old sleds. Were the old sleds at a technical disadvantage, or were they just old and beat-up, so naturally slower?
