05.11.2025 20:22 β π 27 π 12 π¬ 0 π 2Loved @themonstersknow.com's new book, Making Enemies for D&D and other RPGs. It's a complete toolkit for mechanics for new monsters. But it also dives deep into the philosophy of "monsters" in the culture, with a bunch of great interviews from experts in the field! youtube.com/live/X_MndUp...
06.11.2025 13:30 β π 5 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0The cover for THE TOWER OF THE TYRANT by J.T. Greathouse. The main character stands in the foreground with her back to the reader. She carries a staff with a bird figure sitting atop it and gazes intently at a large mountain in the cover's background. On top of the mountain is an enormous tree that may or may not be significant to the plot (you'll have to read the book to find out!).
The cover for ALL THE WICKED by Catelyn Wilson. Two graceful hands are mirroring each other against a black background. One hand is on the top part of the book and has a sharp dagger going through the middle of the palm (ouch) with some blood coming from the wound. The other hand is on the bottom part of the cover and holds an elaborate bronze key. Three luna moths of various poses encircle the hands.
It's a double #bookbirthday today πβ¨π
Happy book birthday to THE TOWER OF THE TYRANT by @jeremyteg.bsky.social and ALL THE WICKED by Catelyn Wilson!
Take this interview with Jim C. Hines as a sign to read Slayers of Old ASAP! Learn the inspiration behind the book, if Jim believes in ghosts, and so much more!

"MAKING ENEMIES is a powerful resource that will kickstart the imagination of any game master... and examples provided here will help you become a better GM and improve basically any campaign."

It's the honor of my life to have narrated @themonstersknow.com's new book, which released from @simonandschuster.bsky.social today.
I have one of Keith's books on my bedside table, and have been playing D&D since I was 8 and DMing since I was 16, so this was a Pinch Me moment for sure.
Howdy, writers!
I'll be closing to queries at the end of today (aka Friday, 10/3). The submissions have been coming in quicker that I can keep up.

It was a delight to be part of the GenCon Writers Symposium and I 100% recommend it for writers who want to learn about the current state of the writing profession, and for the writers who want to share their knowledge with others. Also, it was a hell of a lot of fun!
Whew, Iβm not gonna lie: Iβm still in recovery mode from running the GenCon Writers Symposium and Iβm taking it easy this week. I havenβt processed the weekend yet and Iβm shocked by how few pictures I took. But I wanted to share a few thoughts:

Science Magazine's print Summer Reading List states that Esperance"boldly combines the genres of murder mystery and science fiction to produce a compelling novel -- which alone is no easy feat -- that explores social structures and cultural history."
