I live in a “bowling alley loft”, with the windows 30, from the bedroom and I have no problem with it. But it isn’t for everyone for sure.
If zoning and code result in this, it should be clear evidence that both need to seriously change.

Like, a couple months and like 1-2% of project costs. That’s fine, but not significant. I’m curious if anyone uses the city’s designs ever.

City: please have people in the industry who do the work peer review your stuff more often.
So, to get around zoning, you need a kinda shit garden suite. Also, you might still need other variances.
