There is & that is really unfortunate. I believe pagans are supposed to be open to the beliefs of others, not just because I consider it morally right but also because so many of us struggle to be taken seriously and have our spiritual practice respected. Why would you deny that to another person?

Good ol' racism rears its ugly head again.

Closed practice should be respected. A non-witch example, Catholics don't allow people who do not follow Catholic tenants to take communion and "people" seem to be okay with that.

Me too! The fact that they are connected to everything gives me peace.

I understand your point of view but respectfully disagree that a positive affirmation is at all harmful when applicable to ones own self.

A full moon with the words Full Moon Mantra I release the neer for those things in my life that are not serving my higher self. I am not afraid to let go. In their place, I receive love, joy, and abundance. So it is.

No, both those things were human horrors. In this context, "shit" means personal obstacles. Ex: I'm a child of an abusive alcoholic and because of that I'm hyper vigilant and read body language very well which is enormous help as a chaplain to the dying.

I had two visitors this Samhain, my maternal Gma and paternal Gpa. They both wanted to hear all the family news! My Grandma visited while I had my morning coffee since she was a coffee addict in life.

I love that, as a witch, I can still talk to those who are no longer among the living.

You make an excellent point. We do think of ourselves as the biggest predator so we're always trying to stay "top of the food chain" and assume that anything we don't understand cares enough about us to do something to us.

I've noticed this too! I'm a lifelong practitioner and I've been working with spirits, nature entities, small fae, genus loci, deities etc for years and years and I can count on one hand the number of "negative" interactions I've had, none of which were truly terrifying.
