Not the actor from Star Wars, Dr Who, or The Tweenies - asking me trivia on any of these risks fabricated replies. Open to exchanging opinions on Leeds, music, politics, Age of Sail navy, and vague memories of the 20th century.

One of the camera-drivers told me β€œNot all polyps are cancerous, but all cancers start as polyps”.

You don’t have to bother - I’ve had three, first two with no anaesthesia (because I wanted to drive home asap and eat), and the third with a little gas & air.

If you stay awake, you can watch on the monitor, which is an interesting way to pass the time.

I was born in Denmark Hill, London - 45 years later I realised that the place our house was in being called The Hamlet might well have been a great gag by some unknown town planner, and felt bad for not having noticed for so long.

I remember recuperation being a dull grind where you just feel just a disappointingly tiny bit better most days - and then worse again each night. Not surprised you’re down - pain is exhausting, and the drugs will also wreck your mood. Hope things improve for you.

I don’t watch along, but I do spend my Fridays trying to guess what songs everyone watching #totp is talking about…

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

Yeah, I was taken aback by the revelation they had chosen not to vote in the referendum. Probably should have just dropped the thread at that point.

Superb lineup, and President Gas one of the best political tunes there is.

Fair enough I suppose, but impressive irony levels given their keenness to throw the word stupid around.

I thought my β€œI have some lemon juice for your bank robbery…” quip was at least lighthearted ;)

This is wonderful. I’m constantly amazed by how powerfully pervasive Punk was for a while, and how there’s not been anything like it since.

He was the genius that coped with a lack of resupply options in the Dardanelles by retrieving torpedoes that had missed their targets.

He also tied a dhow to his conning tower as camouflage when surfaced.

The Remainer that didn’t vote Remain whose comment started this sub-thread just blocked me for suggesting it might not be great to call people that *did* vote for the outcome they wanted, stupid.

Ho hum…

Good luck with not voting and moaning about the result.

You seriously didn’t see what the outcome of losing an β€œadvisory” referendum would be, and you’re calling the people that *did* vote for the outcome they wanted, stupid.

I have some lemon juice for your bank robbery…

WW2 was about Europe united, and that’s what’s need to create a stronger future for all of us. Immigration can only be tackled in partnership with our neighbours; humanely, but realistically. We’re the bridge between US & EU, and can benefit from both.

That’s all just moaning as far as they’re concerned - a bunch of smart bastards playing in Westminster and none of it ever makes any difference.

Patriotism and control are the levers to pull. Brexit was Dunkirk, Rejoining is Normandy - Europe’s a mess, but a strong Britain can sort it out.

Ten years later and Continuity Remain still haven’t worked out why they lost, and are still more interested in being right than changing minds.

The thing I enjoy the most is losing that guilt and self-loathing every day when you realise that despite desperately promising yourself you’d give up tomorrow, you haven’t. Again.

I loved smoking, and cigarettes, but I love not smoking too.

Grim isn’t it - nearly ten years on, and a huge chunk of Remain are still calling the people that outvoted them stupid and wondering why they haven’t changed their minds. So easy for Farage to respond β€œBrexit failed because the elites wrecked it”, and carry on as ever.

First black woman to headline Glastonbury, sold 5m+ records, still recording & performing (and blew my 16 year old daughter’s mind this year when she came and joined the audience), Kerrang Hall of Fame, presented an OBE by King Charles

Could have been bigger in the US, but still an awesome career.

I’ve always wondered if Angela Bassett saw a penny of the rights from Fat Boy Slim’s β€œRight here, right now” that was sampled from this movie.

Did the vocal royalties go to her? To the movie? How much would they have been?

Barely any windows/doors at ground level, used to have a clear field of fire all round - always assumed it is alternative seat of government when something hideous happens to London.
