What happened to Blackpool should be a crime. A village within walking distance of Cork City almost completely derelict, the remaining bits suffering from lack of maintenance.
Should be a vibrant City neighbourhood comfortably housing a few thousand more. We should be outraged.

Fair play to MTU – 96 covered bike spaces, just like that. That’s how you do it. Four of these at the Páirc Uí Chaoimh and you'd hardly notice in the landscape. More of this, please.

More 20mph speed cameras should be requested, police panel told Police panel hears how drivers in north Wales have been caught doing up to 83mph in 20mph zones.

Ireland really needs to push ahead with 30km in towns, cities and villages. The data is clear, it reduces collisions, injuries and deaths.

Plans for 124 apartments in Douglas village appealed to An Bord Pleanála Development resulted in several objections from local businesses and residents

Seems odd that a business in an industry that complains about reductions in clientele would be objecting to a development that would deliver a significant number of new customers.

I don't know how you can see the daily carnage on Irish roads from motor vehicles and then think what we need is a piece on the grim menace of bikes, unless you have something seriously off about your moral compass.

On the subject of 🚲 permeability, is anyone on friendly terms with a journalist who might be interested in participating in an active travel experiment?

The experiment being to compare the utility of walking versus cycling on a number of carefully selected routes through the centre of Galway City?

Bit of a lazy ask I appreciate, but figured there are more organised people out there who might have this readily available.

Information that challenge the usual tropes/ arguments that "not everyone can cycle", "It's too wet", etc.

Information on the benefits of cycling, active travel, etc
Thanks
