Took me a while to get there, but I did. And I've had this conversation so many times with friends, family, and colleagues.

Took my teenage kids to see the touring version and they did NOT get it. I said, "Think of it as a party at the end they are all going to, and we are just introducing everyone as we go there." That seemed to do the trick.

I don't believe it exists. I mean, I guess there is a level where you can personally just evade the rule. But not a level where someone doesn't try to impose it on you.

Oof, the slander. My infantry iron majors can absolutely plan better than this. 😀
