08.08.2025 22:14 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Also strange: Growing up in a world where the Internet didn't exist at all, watching it expand from a seed into an incredible resource, then watching it collapse into utter shit in less time than it took to arrive.
08.08.2025 05:22 โ ๐ 433 ๐ 123 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 3Very relatable article. Being a journalist at these events in the 2010s was such an awkward dance. Just slaloming between piles of weird aesthetic choices made by superficial event planners, while anxiously handwringing over whether eating free food was ethical. Great to see that it's back.
06.08.2025 21:12 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah. Must be kinda effective, judging from how much they keep pushing.
06.08.2025 20:16 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Even for my tiny blog about games, I got a ton of mails from agencies offering ยซguest postsยป about gambling.
My near zero traffic probably didnโt matter because the goal is to have an article in a legitimate gaming venue, that they can then spread & sponsor on socials. They crave the crossover.
I am so, so guilty of this. Also goes for anything from Mouthwashing to Heartworm to Crow Country.
ยซHe sure installs a lot of retro looking horrorยป, people whisper behind my back.
Thinking about this every day for the last 7 years

My last living musical hero is still my hero but unfortunately no longer living. RIP to the great, great Mr. Tom Lehrer.

So much of what he wrote remains as relevant & funny now as it was then.
Hope his life was full and his passing peaceful.
Itโs late and I donโt want to wake up my wife so Iโm not getting the YouTube clip, but this is the only answer.

Best tip: If someone puts up one of those tough laser shields, blast the shield full force with napalm. The napalm fills up inside the shield, and the tank goes bye bye

The homemade stuff is good though. Saw a someone in a homemade Mae mask & t-shirt holding a ยซcrimesยป sign in the Oslo Pride parade and it made my day
15.07.2025 17:34 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds and 1000XRESIST were debut games from teams who had basically no idea what they were doing, made early 'naive' decisions they were forced to commit to for the entire development + they ended up being 3 of the most interesting/important games ever made

14.07.2025 16:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah, we have a bunch of library 3d printers in Norway, itโs a great option.
I have a small Tina 2 on my desk, and itโs so satisfying to just hit print and magic something you need/want into existence. My 12 year old headphones have new parts & Mae from Night in the Woods is on my bookcase
100%
The deep cuts were amazing too. I had a rock band/music class in school with very โclassic rockโ types, and they seemed flabbergasted at my insistence on wanting to cover Battle instead of Carlos Santana
Seeing Blur touring 13 live in 99 was wild. Their early britpop albums get so much attention, but Blur + 13 are my absolute favorites. They still sound current in my ears, just noisy lo-fi stuff and beautiful melodies side by side. I saw Oasis the next year and it was like grey goo in comparison
14.07.2025 15:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This. Like I listen to Oasis and it's like oh yeah I too existed in the 90s. Blur has been a *regular* rotation across my playlists *SINCE* the 90s, nevermind Gorillaz.
14.07.2025 15:31 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0A bunch of these are up on Thingiverse for 3D printing, if thatโs an option.
Also, a cheap small 3D printer with some PLA would probably be easier on the wallet than buying the full set
Love it! Also perfectly describes going home for Christmas in Northern Norway every other year
