Seeing the Brewers unlock Andrew Vaughn like this sure makes it seem like the current White Sox organization still has no clue how to develop players.

OK, I don't think I can explain the incredible ever-increasing velocity in MLB better than this.

We just finished the 4th inning of tonight's Cubs-Brewers game.

This game has had 35 100 mph pitches. That's more than were thrown in the '08, '09 or '10 postseasons.

Do you know how badly you have to screw up as a Republican to get this kind of turnout in IDAHO?

Not enough consideration is made about how we don't know how many home runs Babe Ruth actually hit because a vast majority of his home runs took place before the ground rule double rule of 1931.

RIP. Seeing Manfred be forced to issue a statement pretending that the "Great Lakes Gang" didn't ouster Fay from his job just because they didn't like him is nauseating.

Fay's nickname was The Last Commissioner. Unfortunately for us and Manfred the title still resides with Fay.

Philip Low I have known Elon Musk at a deep level for 14 years, well before he was a household name. We used to text frequently. He would come to my birthday party and invite me to his parties. He would tell me....

A must-read. Thisโ€™d be worth creating a Facebook account just to readโ€”and I know what a claim that is to make.

Itโ€™s a bracing essay about Elon Musk by someone very close to him.

(This is very much _not_ about me, of course, but Iโ€™ll say that if you ever doubted my writing on Musk, this will help.)

1991 Fleer Ultra #59 Shawon Dunston baseball card. Dunston is photographed having just made a throw to first base to attempt a double play. Dunston's body is close to parallel to the ground, with his legs only slightly bent and his arms spread fairly straight to his sides. His head is up as he looks toward first base. Dunston has at least 3 feel of clearance between all parts of his body and the groun, and his head is at least 5 feet off the ground. For context, the complete bottom of his right cleat is visible, as it is facing almost directly toward the photographer.

Tim Raines is seen sliding underneath Dunston, having gone into second base feet first while largely turning onto his stomach. Both of Raines' hands are on the ground and he's ducking his head down.

It's 1991 Fleer Ultra #59 Shawon Dunston.

And just for good mesaure, that's #30 Tim Raines sliding underneath.

The best part about Bears games in primetime is how everyone on Twitter is like "oh my god this is the worst football game I've ever seen" while I'm just sitting there like "this is every Bears game of my entire life."

1989 Topps #465 Mark Grace baseball card. Includes gold cup for Topps All-Star rookie selection in 1988. Candid photo of Grace at the batting cage, watching a fly ball. Grace faces away from the camera, with his head turned to the right. He wears #53, a number he never wore in the majors. He wears a solid blue jersey, so the photo was probably taken during spring training 1988. He wears a solid blue Cubs batting helmet and short sleevesโ€”more evidence that this photo was taken in warm and sunny Arizona!

Mark Grace:

-never had 200 hits in a season
- was successful on only 70/114 SB (61%)
- almost 200 career grounded into double plays

Those are the bad stats. Everything else is great (especially 1075 walks vs 642 strikeouts).

Greg Luzinski (the fellow below) finished 2nd in the MVP vote in 1975 and 1977.

Those are higher MVP finishes than the following players, who never finished higher than third in a MVP race:

Tony Gwynn
Manny Ramรญrez
Mel Ott
Dave Winfield
Roberto Alomar
Nolan Arenado
