The world’s 280 million electric bikes and mopeds are cutting demand for oil far more than electric cars Electric vehicles get all the press – but it’s the smaller unsung two wheelers cutting oil demand the most.

The world’s 280 million electric bikes and mopeds are cutting demand for oil 4x more than electric cars due to their staggering uptake in China and elsewhere.

They actually shipped Episode 1 & Episode 2 with commentary at the start, while it was still fresh in the developer's minds. The "base" game added it now, with 20 years of distance, which gave them the ability to put their accomplishments and challenges in context of games and tech that came later

The in-game developer commentary in the 20th anniversary version of Half-Life 2 is so well-done. Floating speech bubbles through the game trigger a developer talking about the gameplay, storytelling or technical challenges of that part of the game

And it's free for the next two days on Steam!

She said family lore had Native American heritage, which is actually kinda believable? So many old American families claim that (rarely true, but who checks?)

My friend thinks I'm getting mostly butts in my What's Hot timeline because of "the algorithm", which I consider slander and will fight him. Also, I selected "don't show me nudity" but apparently butts aren't nudity?

Very hard to differentiate between Hinton the AI godfather with legit regrets/concerns and the generic "British intellectuals of a certain age get curmudgeonly and indulge in a bit of self-loathing".

The latter is so common as to be a stereotype (Rees, Hawking, etc)

I seem to recall the same argument made about Reddit and it never happened. Reddit spawned countless subreddits but very few alt-reddits using the codebase

(Hackernews being one exception?)

The ones I use most are the Keyboard manager, accents, and imager resizer

All should be part of their respective Windows features IMO. I don't understand why they're relegated to this odd add-in

Are PowerTools a preview of Windows features in beta, waiting to be mainstreamed? If not, what is it?

PowerToys seems like a weird mishmash of random stuff that keeps bothering me to update. And I only really want one of the features. Maybe time to unbundle?
