One thing I learned quickly as a young shift forecaster years ago was forecasting low temperatures was usually much harder than forecasting highs.
Case in point this AM's arctic air in the upper Midwest. Note the coldest air pooling in river valleys, urban heat islands with big differences.

A high-pressure system will bring partly cloudy skies across the Northland Wednesday night. Winds will be light, but low temperatures will be below zero. This will push wind chill readings to the -15° to -25° level at times.
Clouds will increase across the Northland Thursday morning ahead of a clipper system, with scattered light snow showers in the afternoon. Winds will become breezy from the southwest as high temperatures warm to the teens.

The sunshine has returned to the region, but it also means it is colder due to a new surge of arctic air.
Breezy northwest winds will make it feel like it's below zero, with actual air temperatures in this range tonight.
Scattered light snow showers will pass through the Northland from west to east Tuesday night as part of a clipper system. Winds remain light as they shift from southwest to northwest. Low temperatures will cool to the single digits and low teens.
A high-pressure system will bring back the sunshine to the Northland Wednesday with partly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Winds will become breezy from the northwest, helping to keep temperatures in the teens for highs early in the day before cooling. Feel like temperatures will be below zero all day.

It's another cool early winter's day in the region with slightly warmer temperatures than yesterday.
Some light snow showers are working their way through the region as part of a clipper system. They will last through the night.
A few flurries will fly over the Northland Monday night, but most of us will be dry with mostly cloudy skies. Winds remain light from the southwest with low temperatures in the upper single digits and lower half of the teens.
A clipper system will bring scattered light snow showers into the Northland by Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy skies with a light breeze from the southwest continuing. High temperatures will be in the upper teens and lower half of the 20s.

Welcome to the start of December and meteorological winter, and it definitely feels like the new season with below average temperatures.
At least we are getting some peeks of sunshine out there, but not much.
Some breaks in the cloud cover will try to form over the Northland Sunday night, but skies will remain mostly cloudy. That and light winds won't stop temperatures from reaching the single digits for lows. It will feel at times below zero.
Monday and the start of December and meteorological fall will see a mix of sunshine and clouds across the Northland. A light breeze from the southwest will form, but it won't help make it feel warmer than the teen and low 20s for highs.

The last of the snow showers over the Northland will move out of the region Thursday night with skies starting to clear of some of the clouds. Winds will also be calming down with low temperatures in the teens.
A high-pressure system will provide the Northland partly cloudy skies for Friday with light winds. Temperatures remain cool for late November with highs in the lower half of the 20s.

A high-pressure system will bring some clearing to the skies over the Northland tonight and Friday, along with calming winds. Temperatures will remain on the cool side of late November with lows in the teens and highs in the 20s.

A Snow Squall Warning is in effect through 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, for eastern Pine County, and northeast Burnett County. A brief burst of heavy snowfall will reduce visibility and make roads difficult to travel on where it passes through.
It isn't often that we get Snow Squall Warnings issued in the Northland, but that is the case this afternoon.
The biggest concern for a brief shot of heavy snowfall will be along Highway 35 around the Douglas/Burnett county line.
The radar over the Northland at 3:15 p.m. on November 27, 2025, shows scattered snow showers passing through the region from northwest to southeast. Some of the snow showers do contain heavy snowfall rates, reducing visibility on area roadways for a brief time period.

Snow showers continue along the southern shoreline of Lake Superior Wednesday evening, with a few isolated show showers elsewhere in the Northland. Winds remain strong with low temperatures in the teens and low 20s.
Thanksgiving Thursday will see any snow showers move out of the Northland, with a few peeks of sunshine poking through the cloud cover. Winds remain breezy with high temperatures cool for late November in the 20s.

Snow showers will continue along the southern shoreline of Lake Superior tonight. The rest of the Northland will see some breaks in the cloud cover as winds remain breezy, and temperatures stay cool, for Thanksgiving.

As of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the highest snowfall totals in the Northland include 23-inches in Brule, Wisconsin, 18-inches in Bessemer, Michigan, 17-inches in Drummond, Wisconsin, 15.5-inches in Blueberry, Wisconsin, 15-inches in Ashland, Wisconsin, and 14-inches in both Hurley, Wisconsin and Washburn, Wisconsin. These areas are continuing to see snowfall through the rest of Wednesday and Wednesday night.
The combination of wet snowfall and strong wind gusts have led to a number of reports of downed trees across the Northland. Some of those reports are from the Duluth area, as well as Namekagon and Northwoods Beach in Wisconsin. There was also a report of a downed tree that struck a 69-year-old man who was snowblowing on his property northwest of Two Harbors. He died from his injuries.
Wind gusts reported across the Northland just before 2 p.m. on November 26, 2025, range from 20 to 40 mph. The strongest gusts were along the Lake Superior shoreline regions, as well as interior northwest Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. The wind direction has shifted to the northwest and north/northwest.
As forecasted, the South Shore and Upper Peninsula regions have seen the most snowfall, with more snow falling the rest of today and tonight.
Winds have been strong, with gusts of 40+ last night and Wednesday morning. They will slowly calm through Thursday.
The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:45 p.m. on November 26, 2025, shows snow showers persisting over the South Shore and Upper Peninsula regions, moving from north to south. Clouds persist for many of us, with a few breaks being detected in northeast Minnesota.
A Blizzard Warning continues for Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties through Wednesday night. A Winter Storm Warning continues for Burnett, Sawyer, and Washburn counties. A Winter Weather Advisory continues for Carlton, Cook, Lake, Pine, and central and southern St. Louis counties.
Road conditions across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin as of around 1:30 p.m. on November 26, 2025, shows partially covered and covered roadways in Wisconsin, with under 50-percent of roadways in Minnesota with similar conditions.
Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on November 26, 2025, range from 23 to 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
