Are we on the cusp of moving beyond the levodopa challenge test to predict the best candidates and response to DBS in Parkinson's disease? Weβve long relied on the levodopa challenge to decide whoβs a good candidate for deep brain stimulation but what if that test is only part of the story?

We studied #aphantasia due to brain injury. Lesions were in many different regions but 100% were connected to the fusiform imagery node - a region active during visual mental imagery @braincircuits.bsky.social

Tremor is a common symptom across many neurological disorders.
But is there a shared tremor circuit across disorders - one that could guide treatment, regardless of diagnosis?
We think: yes.

Research defined the optimal DBS response network in STN-DBS for Parkinsonβs Disease in a spatial domain.
Other research defined physiomarkers for DBS response locally, in a temporal domain.
However, nobody has analyzed these two concepts simultaneously.
