That's messed up! The fetishization of 'new theory', as if that's the only way to increase/improve knowledge about the social world, is really one of our disciplines hottest takes.

So many studies use intelligence as an outcome, but where is the research about how to improve wisdom at the population level?!

Maybe it's another paper, but I wonder about where participants felt like they could reliably go for support and validation during their transition, and/or how they selected/developed/found practices that led to euphoria. (I saw the _reasons_ folks chose particular practices often very clearly)

It was really lovely reading it! I appreciated how you talked to folks from around the world and centered how clearly participants saw race and gender and fatness together.

I also related to the stories of being uncomfortable claiming transness as a non binary person.

As Matt suggests, this probably just reflects differences in co-authorship practice across disciplines. Those y-axes are really misleading too: this is measuring production per PI, but most of my Sociology colleagues feel lucky if they can hire a single RA, let alone a lab.

Yes! So grateful for my collaborators who make sure our qual methods are tight! It's hard, but it's where my mixed-methods projects make their best insights!

Given what we know people associate crime with, this misperception is part of a bundle of perceptual errors which serve to naturalize racism (and probably transphobia).

Actually there are! They are smaller than I remember them, but the altitude helps I think.

I'm back at work now and part of me wants to have stayed.
