Widespread 90s and Night minimums 70s.
Absolute insanity.

I've said it before but the main reason why democracy is the superior system is that, while the average person is a moron, the average elite is even more moronic

If our societies were so fragile & vulnerable to shocks, we’d be better able to cope with the approaching storm.
The future doesn’t have to be one of sacrifice and broken promises. That’s an assumption we all make, and we bias every ensuing conclusion with that false premise.
The problem is we’ve convinced ourselves that more=better.
Unless and until we allow ourselves to ponder a vision of the future that makes a better use of finite resources to deliver more human welfare more equitably with less mindless consumption, we’ll never get off this merry go round.
With so much that is broken, the West needs to tell a new narrative to survive:
"If democracies learn to articulate a more ambivalent narrative — one that acknowledges loss, confronts vulnerability, redefines progress and pursues resilience — they may paradoxically renew themselves."
I would remind folks that among the reasons Stephen Miller is saying crazy crap on Twitter is because he's losing in the courts, both judicial and public opinion.
