Daaaammnnnn I kinda liked Derek Thompson.

Here I was telling myself that it was just Ezra Klein giving him all these bad ideas.

I need a job and I would not take a job working for Bari Weiss. If you are a commentator who cannot see what the play is there, I'm not sure you should be offering commentary.

ICE and the Israeli Military Are 2 Sides of the Same Coin — We Must Resist Both Opposing ICE in the US while backing genocide in Gaza is senseless. These struggles are intertwined.

"then executive director of RAIA told Al Jazeera in 2020 that U.S. law enforcement who travelled to Israel witnessed 'live demonstrations of repressive violence in real-time, in protests across the West Bank, patrols in East Jerusalem, and visits to the Gaza border.'"

Not for nothing but these libertarian fundamentalist types certainly know how to rain fire down from the sky when they feel like it, most of all against what they rightly perceive as big government overreach.

Perhaps this deserves some cautious optimism.

After analyzing the videos, I believe it's highly likely the first shot was a negligent discharge from the agent in the grey jacket after he removed the Sig P320 from Pretti's holster while exiting the scene.
My breakdown:

There may indeed have been a negligent discharge by this untrained idiot agent. (And the p320 has had problems with that.)

That alone would be bad. But worse is that his colleague who shot him saw him take the gun so knew Alex was unarmed by then.

Pretty much everyone on IG who has been carefully quiet about politics is speaking out.

It’s. Weird.

I’m not on there all that much, but I think people have finally been given social permission to say the uncomfortable thing.

I think they realize not speaking up will be read as acceptance.

5 Big Reasons Why Electricity Prices Are So High Right Now The average U.S. household is projected to spend nearly $1,000 this winter to heat its home.

Apparently our electricity bills are going through the roof and this is partly related to data centers that hog huge amounts of electricity to generate information. I, for one, feel hopping mad about this. The companies that are using the data centers should bear the cost.

Pete Epanchin's key points, 1 year since the freeze on US foreign assistance: 1) the benefits of foreign assistance did not stop with partner countries; 2) Americans gained as well; 3) trust is far easier to break than it is to rebuild; and 4) unmanaged risks abroad do not stay abroad.

Climate adaptation and resilience must account for context and culture - Nature Health The health effects of climate change are unequal, so adaptation policies must prioritize the most affected communities.

"Climate change is also exposing and accelerating long-standing weaknesses in healthcare infrastructure. The regions that are most vulnerable to climate extremes, such as heatwaves, floods and prolonged drought, often coincide with areas that already face fragile medical provision."

Piracy will remain inevitable for the foreseeable future because we do not have adequately robust digital archival technology. Every storage device on earth slowly fails/rots.

You are not an antisocial, criminal force. You are doing your part serving as valuable cultural memory.
