MESSAGE 1:
I contracted COVID in January 2022. A time when everyone was supposed to be masked up. A parent sent their kid to school with full blown covid. This student was told not to tell us she was sick. Half our class got Covid, including myself. I got Long Haul Covid. I’m 3 1/2 years into this chronic disease. A disease which destroyed my health and my ability to work. I was an education assistant. My life is so different from before Covid. I have a page full of symptoms that I deal with daily. Doctors are not educated in this disease. They look at you like you’re a hypochondriac, or crazy. I’ve learned to accept where my life is now. To be positive. To stop and smell the flowers. At the end of the day I wouldn’t wish this nightmare on anyone. I know I’m not alone, many teachers, EAs and support staff also suffer with Long Haul. All I can do is educate others and hope a cure comes with time.'
