Where does the government borrow from? The UK has a FIAT currency that the BoE issues on demand, so...
20.02.2026 10:01 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The media adoration of a dysfunctional and very privileged family disgusts me. QT panel last night as one were sycophantic towards King Charles. Apparently, they are 'hard working'. They don't know what that expression means!

Council elections, not Westminster ones, of course.

Fiction from them?
Excellent!
Spend it on the NHS.
Reinstate nurse study bursaries.
Bring the bank reserve nurse service back into state ownership.
Get the NHS back to the best health service in the world. Like it was in 2010 before the Tories ruined it.
I wonder how big a thank you payment Jenrick got for that service?

It's pretty obvious where that grifter's priorities lie, isn't it?
It certainly is not the people of Clacton.
Media driven ignorance and bigotry.

The HoL is well past its sell-by date. It's anachronistic, incredibly costly, and has no place in a modern, 21st-century democracy.
But is the UK a modern, 21st-century democracy?๐ค
I still think that if an elected official of any kind is elected standing for one party but then changes allegiance to another party, there should be a by-election.
Nobody voted for that official in their new party affiliation, did they?
I visit them often, and for much longer than I want to.

There are 3 JCB plants just to the NW of the town. Those plants have a new grade separated junction on the A50. JCB paid most of the costs so their trucks could avoid the roundabouts going west.
Last year, we heard the eastern roundabout plan was scrapped.
Still have to queue at the roundabouts.๐คฆโโ๏ธ
The A50 dual carriageway runs roughly east-west, & just to the north of Uttoxeter, there are two roundabouts. East where the A518 meets A50 and central where there's an Esso station & a McDonald's. The plan 7-8 years ago was to grade separate the junctions with no need for E-W traffic to stop.

Raising interest rates is not a good way to try to get inflation down, as it penalises the majority of people while pleasing the wealthy.
Governments celebrate when it goes down, "Look at what we've achieved."
But if it goes up, it's down to "external factors" and nothing to do with government.
It's not just IT.
Everything is very expensive in the UK. E.G. - HS2 is costing WAY, WAY more than equivalent high-speed rail projects in other countries.
Why?
That is really saying something. ๐ฒ

I'll be 61 at the end of this month. I will NEVER vote for any right-wing or centre right party.
I'm firmly left of centre and moving further left as I get older.
The media is partial when it should be impartial and has moved to the right with its adoration of Farage.
Absolutely useless MSM. Worse than useless, actually.
