Anna Akhmatova wrote a lot of poetry about other people's husbands, is partially what people dislike about her. The other thing is this weird complicated argument that real art is not made by messy people and messy artists cannot make real art.

It is an incredible, bewildering thing to have read more than once. Like, I respect that Akhmatova has her haters! But they also hate her so much more personally than I've ever hated anybody.

It has been leveraged more than once in books by different authors!! I would LOVE to know if it's common in Russian academia to accuse people of being witches or if these people are just having a bad time.

I would accept it from a medieval chronicler as a primary source complaint, but I cannot accept it from people writing academic analysis in the 1990s.

I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that nothing makes you sound more untrustworthy than being a hater who breaks out an accusation of women using feminine wiles and literal sorcery to get male attention.

HOW am I supposed to take the claim of witchcraft seriously from grown ass scholarship.

I really want every cis person who said "I won't let that happen" when I first expressed fear and anxiety about transition becoming illegal to, I don't know. Take extremely drastic action to prevent it. To do something rather than sitting frozen.

Though my other crackpot belief is that I personally retain memories of the timelines where I died, and many people who make it through multiple near death experiences can remember some of the things from their other timelines.

I have had an almost identical dream as a kid. I'm also the only person who read the ending of Amber Spyglass I remember -- I can tell you where I was and what I was doing when I got slapped by the saddest downer ending in the world, which apparently isn't how that book actually ends.

I have experienced Things that make me 98% sure this timeline is unstable. I guess that's more a spiritual belief but I DO think none of us will ever know if/when it gets fixed because the me who is writing this comment won't exist. And that's okay.

I think we're the alternate unstable timeline buckling under pressure, about to wink out of existence, and when the main timeline is stabilized finally, people will say things like "sometimes I have horribly vivid nightmares Russia invaded Ukraine, so glad THAT never happened."
