Fluffy snow-white moth in the leaf litter. Its body is very furry and long and its wings, white with still whiter veins and tiny black spots, seem too small for its body.

Same fluffy moth seen from the side because I’ve lifted the leaf it is on. Its legs are hugging the leaf, they too are thick with fluffy fur.

Do you ever find a critter that just stops you in your tracks because you didn’t know anything like it existed near you?

Anyway, look at this fabulous moth I found today! iNaturalist says it is a Dot-lined White (Artace cribrarius). I just sat stunned, she looks like a plush toy not a real moth.

Yellow Warblers were split into two species. The one in the US should be the migratory Northern Yellow Warbler, which the eBird taxonomy update specifies "consistently have a yellow head without any rufous on the cap, head, or face"
