A couple of personal firsts from Friday morning's very good sporadic E opening to Scandinavia - Denmark and Norway! I've only ever received Denmark via tropo before now, and I don't think I've ever had Norway, especially with all their high-power FM having been switched off a few years ago.

I might have to give that one a go, not tried it before

I see it's been mentioned already, but screen is what I use too 😀

Thanks, there doesn't seem to be any sign of it on their Hotbird feeds so I guess they must be sending programming to it in another way

Out of curiosity, what times are the Russian transmissions on weekdays? I want to check out the BBC WS satellite feeds to see if one of them is being used for it like for the 639/720 mixed English/Arabic service

Tropo to the west bringing Irish DAB in again this evening, with a nice stable signal. Including TII pings from the Balbriggan transmitter, listed as 500W ERP!

Interesting to see sporadic E from the other end of the path thanks to FM-DX Webservers, this one in Biscoitos on Terceira islands in the Azores picking up BBC Radio 2 from North Hessary Tor in Devon on 88.1 at 2241km (plus BBC R3 on 90.3 and France Musique Brest on 89.4)

Decent signals from Ireland on DAB again this morning

Nice tropo signal from the new Irish DAB multiplex on 7C with test tones this morning

Vers la fin des années 90, la BBC a mis les logos à l'antenne sur BBC 1 et BBC 2, mais cela ne concernait que la version numérique de ces chaines (regardée par très peu de gens à l'époque), et seulement pendant quelques mois. C'est ce peut-être dont il parle ? 🤔

..Slight correction to this - it actually must be using the satellite feed labelled "BBC Eur Feed 1". This is broadcasting a stream of English programmes as well as the Arabic programming in parallel to 639/720. The English programming is different to what's going out on the main English BBC WS feed

This now seems to be carrying a proper radio service rather than audio from the BBC Arabic TV channel. Just listened at 1500z and both 639 and 720 switched from carrying live English BBC WS to an Arabic programme. Being distributed via the old "BBC Arabic" radio stream on the Eutelsat 7C satellite

Sign-on of the new BBC Arabic transmissions on 639/720kHz from Cyprus at 1300z today, recorded via a local KiwiSDR. Seems to just be carrying the live audio from BBC Arabic TV. cc: @arniedxer.bsky.social

C'est bien que tu captes ces chaînes italiennes sur le 9°E, c'est impossible ici en Angleterre. Ce sont des feeds à destination du réseau terrestre en Italie. Tu capteras aussi peut-être la RTS Un suisse sur le 12466 V 41950 (celle-ci est pour les émetteurs TNT dans la Vallée d'Aoste)

Another one, RTL RADIO in German from Luxembourg on 1440kHz, in DRM format. Decoded from an IQ file originally recorded by Irish DXer Paul Logan in November 2009!

Just wanted to share a couple of radio highlights after biting the bullet and deleting my account in the other place. First off, Iceland via sporadic E back in June 2023. It's always nice to hear Iceland 🙂

Il semble qu’ils soient en train de migrer ces feeds d’Astra 3 vers Astra 1. Le sat Astra 3B approche la fin de vie, et il paraît que son remplacement n’a pas autant de place. Je suis heureux parce que c’est plus facile à les capter 😄

Sur Astra 1 19.2E - 11604V. Il y a deux mux dedans, le 11D "Radio fuer NRW" et ce nouveau mux 🙂

J'ai pu jeter un petit coup d'œil, grâce au flux qui servira pour alimenter les émetteurs, déjà disponible sur le sat 👀

Testing out a different tiny machine for my TEF FM-DX-Webserver (Orange Pi Zero 2). I’ll see how it runs but it seems to work well so far, and I like how small it is!

Some fairly strong FM signals from Ireland this morning via tropo

On peut ajouter Downtown 1026 dans l'Irlande du Nord à la liste. Message en boucle avec mentionne du DAB et une liste des fréquences FM !

..Pareil pour le 1152 de Newcastle (Greenside). Le 1161 de Dundee et le 990 de Doncaster émettent toujours pour le moment, mais je ne sais pas pour les autres.
