To be absolutely clear, it is impossible to vote for a party that cannot bring itself to unequivocally defend the rights of people living and working legally in this country. Because arbitrary removal of legal rights, or sudden varying of terms, for some is ultimately a threat to everyone.

Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

I agree absolutely. This is what I teach. I think we all have parts (complex multi-faceted personalities) just not always dissociated ones.

I come across this in my work, and truly it's often awful, abusive stuff. I wish I knew how to stop it but yes, the courts must recognise and handle it better.

Here’s what you need to know about Starmer’s illiberal protest curbs: they would have killed the Labour party at birth | George Monbiot The rights we enjoy in the UK, and the movement the PM purports to lead, were built on protest. Those rights are in dire peril, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

To be effective, protest must be noisy, obstructive, annoying. No longer is this allowed. Now the last attribute of effective dissent – persistence – is also to be banned. But the moment protest ceases to be effective is the moment democracy dies. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

In any normally functioning democracy, Farage’s political career would now be over. You would have to invoke unbelievable levels of naivety and stupidity for Farage to dodge this one - and sadly for him such qualities are not on the person specification for the job of Prime Minister.

Really worth listening to this discussion about Gestalt therapy which is little understood, but, I think plays an important role in relational therapy especially in trauma.

My GP practice has had an online access system called AskMyGP for some years. It works brilliantly. Generally get some sort of response in an hour or so, to arrange whatever consultation is needed, often on the same day. Why can't all practices do this?

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

She was arrested for holding a sign reading:

β€œI do not support the proscription of Palestine Action”

How that would warrant arrest is very unclear. I wonder if the police here even understand the boundaries of the bizarre law they’ve been forced to enforce.

This is truly chilling, and goes waaaay beyond immigration. When you have political parties saying that you don't need lawyers, courts, judges etc because the government cannot make mistakes absolutely everyone should be worrying. What starts with one group tends to expand to others.
