It's always the CEO who declares a pivot to AI and everyone has to be fired for some reason
Never the CTO
No idea why. Who could possibly say
@jerome.blue.bsky.social
I make some stuff with code + LLMs / indiehacking Interested in tech, modern propaganda, and cleaning up information spaces

I would love to a little later in the summer
Hippies are mean people pretending to be nice
Goths are nice people pretending to be mean
I don't know who said it first, but I think about this a lot.
It's also true about surfers and punks.
I guess it's because in the global north heating is often necessary for survival and cooling is a summer luxury
And so people project that heuristic everywhere
This image was shared by a MAGA account on facebook, incase that wasn't obvious. Not my opinion

"No more foreign wars" was a major part of Trump's appeal to his base, and they are really having a day over this.
Obviously, Israel is the Villain, not Trump

Big report out on climate misinfo
www.ipie.info/research/sr2...
The TL;DR - Professional campaigns of lies pushed online have been catastrophic in combating climate change.
Big oil, petrostates employing PR firms and even more sinister operations have driven the debate for years

Ah cool, you can opt in and out of whether or not you care about using "public" propriatary code

A short essay I wrote on LLMs and reasoning.
The kicker; Obscure source plagaisim is NOT creativity.
The burden of proof is on OpenAI to show they reason, not on Apple to disprove it.
Until then, It's a 1tn cargo cult.

If the strategy was a limited strike to shift the story away from 2 million starving people being bombed in tents.
Mission accomplished.
There's something surprisingly soothing about having a robot giving you basic calls to action - even when you try and convince it that everything is more complicated.

At this point the Alignment Problem, whether advanced AI will act in our interests, is basically marketing.
The Containment Problem is the real issue.
What happens as enshittified VC-backed half baked implementations infest themselves everywhere.
Basically capitalism.
It should be very clear;
Training models falls under fair use, but the commercial application of those models doesn't.
ML is a kind of data compression. Kind of like making an MP3 from a CD. Of course you can do it, but if you later want to sell the MP3 then you owe royalties.
It's actually cute how the story is, after 15 years of austerity and brexit, suddenly things have become insufferable for rich.
Nothing has changed. There's no millionaire exodus.
There's just sour losers who have to spend loads of money lobbying different people.

I'm just being an idiot.
It's always been mostly vapid. I don't miss the 2010s "eveything but this time in a mobile app" much
Yeah, I liked the tech industry that reinvented established markets while making billions dodging regulation by putting it in an app with a dumb name by dropping the last vowelr
that was the best tech industry
