The Supreme Court did this via the shadow docket. The majority of the Justices did not explain why it is okay for law enforcement to racially profile folks. The use of the shadow docket to take away civil rights is not okay.

I joined a union for the first time this week! I am happy to celebrate Labor Day as a union member.

Did the same yesterday. Made it through meal prep today with less pain than usual. Vegetarian chili, movieran meatballs over couscous, roasted chicken and veg over penne, and baked tofu with a peanut sauce. Almost everything went in the oven at the same time.

We are watching the destruction of institutions that made us all safer.

Pretty stoked to be in a union for this time on Labor Day! As a PhD student at Brown University, I am grateful for the Graduate Labor Organization that has fought for livable PhD student stipends and benefits.

If I survived parenting four kids under the age of six…and I got my masters degree while working full time in tech and parenting teenagers…I hope I can survive this PhD in my 40s.
