Today is also the day I cleared a space in a bureau drawer for my new custom @elrohirleather.bsky.social travellers notebook. This meant rearranging the ink bottles and at least 7 less interesting notebooks (some are Paperblanks so pretty but sadly generally not fountain pen friendly.)

George Bain's Celtic Art Methods of Construction has been enlightening with regards to elements in it being on at least one Greenwood Tarot card and three or four Celtic Shaman cards - mostly the same two images, a reconstructed deer from Abernethy and a leaf pattern from St Vigean's.

I scrape it, scattering slightly overdone (to me at least) crumbs over the sink area, while cursing the toaster.

Last day today, then goodbye to the charity I've worked at for 21 years.

My archive of newsletters and other documents and directories has been sent off to the National Library of Wales. I feel both happy and sad about this. I'm glad they'll be preserved, but it was a wrench to hand that box over after the work I put in over the last 20 years to keep it all safe.

Just finished Sarn Helen by Tom Bullough. It's left me feeling 'but what can I do?'. I recycle, I don't fly, I spend the winter colder than I'd like, I buy second-hand... but heat pumps, solar panels and electric cars are beyond what I can afford.

It amazes me, the fact it's still there after over 2,000 years despite the fact that, unlike Avebury, Silbury or Stonehenge, it's needed active maintenance to keep it from disappearing. There's something quite awe inspiring about that.

A flyer that brings back the bad buffet at an event, at the bottom of a box a Christmas card from a service user who died, reports from a slightly disastrous conference and s fantastic conference that brought change, photos from staff Christmas parties.

Just feel the need to get this out - having to help close the charity you've worked at for over 20 years is absolutely shit. Not just in terms of the fact I'm going to be unemployed very soon, but the memories that get raked up by having to sort through everything.

Mine only ever showed an interest in male cats. Female cats in heat terrified him. He was terrible at hunting as well, he generally wanted to be friends with all living things.

Pretty much what I did. It's not a big deal unless you make it one.

Male torties/calicos are rare. I had one he was lovely but didn't seem to know how to be a cat.

There is also now around an extra £200 worth of books in my Amazon basket that I need to whittle down to £50ish. Reading is an expensive business.

So I managed to injure my leg a couple of weeks ago. Upside - Silence of the Gods has been read and I'm half way through Pagan Britain. Downside - some pain/discomfort, the house is a mess. I'm trying to decide how I feel about this.

I love his work, one of my favourite Tolkien artists. A lovely friend bought me the single volume edition of LotR illustrated by Lee a long time ago.

Didn't realise about the beard. I loved watching Ronald Hutton with Philomena Cunk, so I knew about his hair - and now read everything he wrote in his voice.
