We are now discussing if the fish was obtained from the chippy (or their bin), a neighbour's dinner or a neighbour's cat's dinner.
Loki is currently looking incredibly pleased with himself.

You know that feeling when you realise your cat is out, there are fireworks going off and whistling, calling & shaking the Dreamies bag gets no response, then they slink in an hour later smelling of fish?
27.10.2025 20:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Today is also the day I cleared a space in a bureau drawer for my new custom @elrohirleather.bsky.social travellers notebook. This meant rearranging the ink bottles and at least 7 less interesting notebooks (some are Paperblanks so pretty but sadly generally not fountain pen friendly.)
26.10.2025 20:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Explain it to him sternly, then just do what he wants anyway - isn't that what usually happens?
26.10.2025 19:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0George Bain's Celtic Art Methods of Construction has been enlightening with regards to elements in it being on at least one Greenwood Tarot card and three or four Celtic Shaman cards - mostly the same two images, a reconstructed deer from Abernethy and a leaf pattern from St Vigean's.
26.10.2025 19:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's on my Kobo wishlist now! Thank you.
26.10.2025 19:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today, people across the world remember one of the greatest tragedies in Welsh history - the 1966 Aberfan disaster - which left a small mining village robbed of an entire generation
21.10.2025 07:46 β π 100 π 72 π¬ 3 π 4Scottish wildcat? Beautiful, but much as I love cats I also like having my hands in one piece.
21.10.2025 13:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All over, felt sad. Watched Howl's Moving Castle - my son refused The Fellowship of the Ring which was unreasonable, but Studio Ghibli is always a good choice. Son is now a huge fan of Calcifer.
03.10.2025 21:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I scrape it, scattering slightly overdone (to me at least) crumbs over the sink area, while cursing the toaster.
03.10.2025 12:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last day today, then goodbye to the charity I've worked at for 21 years.
03.10.2025 09:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My archive of newsletters and other documents and directories has been sent off to the National Library of Wales. I feel both happy and sad about this. I'm glad they'll be preserved, but it was a wrench to hand that box over after the work I put in over the last 20 years to keep it all safe.
01.10.2025 19:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just finished Sarn Helen by Tom Bullough. It's left me feeling 'but what can I do?'. I recycle, I don't fly, I spend the winter colder than I'd like, I buy second-hand... but heat pumps, solar panels and electric cars are beyond what I can afford.
29.09.2025 23:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It amazes me, the fact it's still there after over 2,000 years despite the fact that, unlike Avebury, Silbury or Stonehenge, it's needed active maintenance to keep it from disappearing. There's something quite awe inspiring about that.
05.09.2025 20:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's ok, don't think I've said it before!

Visited Avebury last weekend, took a detour to see the Uffington Horse on the way home and saw this rainbow.
05.09.2025 20:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really love your Mari art!
05.09.2025 20:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My cousin had it in the UK, early 80s. Not nice at all.
When I had my son in 2013 they were offering maternal vaccinations so the baby would be protected until they could be vaccinated. Didn't hesitate to accept it.
And mainly all the people. The people I've worked with over the years - all of them, colleagues, people using the service, colleagues in other organisations.
04.09.2025 19:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A flyer that brings back the bad buffet at an event, at the bottom of a box a Christmas card from a service user who died, reports from a slightly disastrous conference and s fantastic conference that brought change, photos from staff Christmas parties.
04.09.2025 19:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just feel the need to get this out - having to help close the charity you've worked at for over 20 years is absolutely shit. Not just in terms of the fact I'm going to be unemployed very soon, but the memories that get raked up by having to sort through everything.
04.09.2025 19:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You keep writing such interesting books!
02.09.2025 09:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Excellent, I'll look forward to that.
30.08.2025 14:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mine only ever showed an interest in male cats. Female cats in heat terrified him. He was terrible at hunting as well, he generally wanted to be friends with all living things.
25.08.2025 22:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pretty much what I did. It's not a big deal unless you make it one.
25.08.2025 20:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Male torties/calicos are rare. I had one he was lovely but didn't seem to know how to be a cat.
25.08.2025 20:13 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There is also now around an extra Β£200 worth of books in my Amazon basket that I need to whittle down to Β£50ish. Reading is an expensive business.
25.08.2025 19:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So I managed to injure my leg a couple of weeks ago. Upside - Silence of the Gods has been read and I'm half way through Pagan Britain. Downside - some pain/discomfort, the house is a mess. I'm trying to decide how I feel about this.
25.08.2025 19:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love his work, one of my favourite Tolkien artists. A lovely friend bought me the single volume edition of LotR illustrated by Lee a long time ago.
20.08.2025 18:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Didn't realise about the beard. I loved watching Ronald Hutton with Philomena Cunk, so I knew about his hair - and now read everything he wrote in his voice.
