Just watched a talk by Prof. Xiaoru Yuan on his group’s work, including ZuantuSet: A Collection of Historical Chinese Visualizations and Illustrations, in which I am especially interested. I also learnt about the Dunhuang manuscript P.2156, a visualisation of Buddhist concepts.

Yep. This website 古音小鏡 is really useful when studying Chinese linguistics and philology. I have no idea who developed it. Some pages on historical evolution of Chinese dialects use data visualisation techniques very effectively!

Professor Camps, I am finding it challenging to complete my research plan by today (23 March). Would it be okay if I submit it a few days later?

I’m very interested in the fellowship. Unfortunately, I have not been enrolled as a PhD student yet, and am still looking for PhD opportunities.

北大研发大规模中国古代可视化数据集
近日北京大学智能学院袁晓如课题组在中国古代早期可视化研究获得进展,研究工作被领域国际会议 ACM CHI 2025 接收。
I read about this research on the history of visualization in the Chinese tradition, and became very interested.
The size of their database is impressive.
