The numbers are factual Brian, not scaremongering. The Irish diaspora is likely bigger than any other EU country. I do agree there could be a case for more recent migrants to be allowed a vote e.g migrated in the previous 5 years maybe?

10% of the American population claim Irish heritage. That’s approx 35mn people. Imagine if they had Irish voting rights what power they might have to impose a Trump like character on Ireland!!! FWIW, I’m an Irish citizen living in Wales, with no voting rights in Ireland and that’s how it should be.
