We have two flavors of dog in this house: meatball staffies and noodle Italian greyhound mixes πŸ˜‚

I’m so excited for you to get your service dog!! My SIL’s world opened up so much for her when she got hers. It’s amazing what they can help us do ❀️

Oh yeah, like temperament and drive and stuff! My partner does that to match her staffies to homes - gotta make sure the hardcore drivey babies go to the sport homes lolol

One of her recent dogs was the top staffie in dock diving nationwide!!

Oh yeah - I guess I figured there was water immersion somewhere to protect the meteorite…? Which also doesn’t make sense πŸ˜‚

I used metal wire stuck into the canals for bigger blood vessels for my pfp, and was anxious about damaging the skull for the entire time. I’ll take a look online!

Where did you get a nylon third hand clamp? I’ve always wanted some non-marring positioning clips for delicate objects in photo setups!

someone tell me why renting 400ft of studio/office space is more expensive than buying a whole-ass house around here

what the h e l l

maybe I'll just buy another (!!! never not bizarre that I am a Home Owner) house and turn it into a photography studio

Recently, I actually had to pull over and just rest for a bit, because I'd slept so badly a few nights in a row and then tried to do a 2.5hr drive. I felt bad but I 100% would have killed us both on the Houston-Galveston highways otherwise!

I live in Texas - well placed in the middle, so Houston/Austin are very regular day trips, but even San Antonio or Dallas isn't an egregious suggestion.

I'm not 100% on whether he actually thought it was a three hour drive, or just like, under 10 hours. He also thought Disney World was one park like DCA, so she's been his unofficial travel planner

7-8h is my personal 1-way limit for car travel bc the cost + time start to even out with flying lol

My partner recently got to tell an international friend that no, actually, you can’t drive from southern Florida to NYC in a couple of hours, and you should reconsider this portion of your vacation plan πŸ€ͺ

Four matted art prints arranged on a table.

Top Left: A conceptual/abstract photograph depicting different insects are suspended from strings in an ethereal, dreamy space. By Krista Steinke.

Top Right: A linocut print of a highly stylized hare posed in a somewhat rectangular position, almost like a mime pretending to be trapped in an invisible box (there is a better what to phrase it I’m sure, but I can’t come up with it now). By Pam Wishbow.

Bottom Left: A conceptual/abstract photograph of a deceased brown sparrow, or some other small house bird, laying on a stark gray and white textured backdrop. The textures bring to mind rain dripping down a window, or a birch forest in winter. By Krista Steinke

Bottom Right: An illustration of a stylized Grevy’s zebra. Its head is sharply arched as in dressage, but craned down as if it’s battling against the wind. Its legs are posed in a sort of mid-gallop, but pulled up closer to the body and not bunched under the belly. Tones of soft pink in the background, soft but dark blue stripes, with goldenrod hooves and eyes. The eye is much more graphical than the rest, which is rendered in a detailed representational style, which lends a bit of mystery or magic to the illustration. By Samantha Mash.

Photo. Walnut board cut into pieces for a picture frame. Only part of the length is visible. The boards are arranged so that the woodworking joint, a mitered half lap, creates a geometric β€œstairstep” pattern along the ends.

I accidentally ordered mats in two different shades 😭 at least in person it’s not so obvious. The cream actually looks better on the zebra print!

I only worked on the long frames today but I got the mitered half laps done with NO MISTAKES.

Pls clap for my not completely incompetent joinery cutting

I love cute-stupid stuff like corbeau staying at the hotel and "tipping" 100k to Urbain so that his robin hood gang second-in-command can immediately show up to "collect the debt" Urbain owes.

I’m not looking to commission stickers at this time, just looking at what’s readily available. Thanks tho!

Mostly clean/mono white. I did finally find a transparent white sticker of the early 50s Nikon logo! I also started looking at car window stickers, since they tend to be transparent base.

I don’t know exactly what else I want yet because I’m indecisive πŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺπŸ€ͺ it’s a job case so probably no swears lol

Now that I have a rolling camera case that needs stickers I have entirely forgotten every single artist that might make them

So if you have any artist in mind who does punny and/or creativity job focused stickers I need something gay and also something camera-related

The real reason you see so many "natural light" photographers is that The Taming of the Strobes is a draconian battle every fucking time.

If it were simple to set up studio lighting literally everyone would do it because it RULES

Close up of a photo flash trigger (specifically a Godox xPro 2 unit). Groups A and B are active, set to 1/16 and 1/32 power respectively. Yours truly is unbearably smug about finally getting it to work.

Syncing two flashes to a trigger shouldn’t be this freakin HARD

But I WON. I DID IT. My boss gave up on them but not meeee

It really is! And I might be being too picky but also all my cheap frames have started falling apart and I’d just like to make something I know will last πŸ€ͺ

I really want to make a gallery wall of white oak frames, but I've had a couple boards of red oak standing in the corner of my living room for three years, so Phase 1 of the Bougie Frame Project is going to be red.

Or possibly walnut, but I don't actually think I have enough for four frames πŸ₯²

I'm making/upgrading frames for some artwork (a @pamwishbow.bsky.social lino print, 2 photo prints I bought from my college photo prof, and a @samanthamash.bsky.social I'm gifting to my partner) but oh my god I just spent $250 on P99 acrylic

DIY framing saves you NOTHING, kids. Don't be like me.

Yeah, that too! Our neighborhood also skimps on the streetlights, so it can be a little dark to take kiddies around!

Our neighbors all have younger kids, and they go to the richer neighborhoods to trick or treat (which like. Fair lmao), but there’s been a slow uptick since I got here. Less than 10, then a dozen or so for two years, and now the last two years 25-30 πŸ₯°
