Cutting out most social media cold turkey was quite possibly one of the best things I ever did. It hasn't even been a week and I'm seeing significant improvements in my mood, anxiety, and productivity.

Take back your attention.

The social media experiment is over. We need to go back to online forums/message boards.

Day 3 off of mainstream social media. Today's agenda: Play video games, do the daily NYT puzzles, bake cookies with my children, and go outside to enjoy the crisp January air.

Same...I like it here. And I'm highly skeptical about anything TikTok from here on out...

I deleted TikTok last night, and I am not redownloading it. Gonna miss the community there, but the stunt that's being played is something I want no part in.

Signal has stories if you can get people over there.

I have recently been doing Murdle. There's books and a website. It's super fun. Like sodoku & the board game Clue meshed together.

I deleted the app off my phone. I think I'm going to delete it once it comes fully back. Just doesn't feel right.

My advice is to folks who are feeling deep stress over the political climate. If possible, unplug. Go outside.

Physically, go outside and spend some time there, be present with the external world. If possible, connect with people you care about. Be present in the current moment.

My almost 10 yo son is adamant that he doesn't want social media at all. I guess all of my talks really have made an impression.

Enjoy every second! I miss when my kids were tiny babies. It goes by fast. The days are long but the years are short, indeed.

I remember how I felt with my one yr old on my hip when he won in 2016...that dread has just been perpetuated exponentially....and now I have an almost 10 yr old and I'm still worried about his future...

I just have a bad feeling. I don't think TT will ever be what it was again. The video he made and the pop up just don't give me warm and fuzzy feelings. After all, he's a billionaire too....

Being in a very small town in the Southeast, TikTok was a big part of how I got news from around the world. Can anyone suggest websites/people to follow on here/podcasts? Since I deleted my Meta accounts, I feel cut off from the world in a sense.

I deleted Facebook today after 16 years on the platform. Ads, privacy, AI, bots, and so many other reasons. Meta shouldn't own communication, anyone who wants to keep up with my family has my phone number. Frustrated but feel liberated.
