Only by thinking that writing a research paper would only take "weeks" could one conclude that this product has the promised value.
05.08.2025 01:42 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The initial estimate of job change for a month is based on the growth or loss of jobs at the businesses that have reported their data. Generally, BLS assumes that the employment situation at businesses that had reported is representative of the situation at those that had not yet reported. BLS continues to collect outstanding reports from the businesses in the sample as it prepares a second and then a third estimate for the month. With each subsequent estimate, more businesses have provided their information. In 2012, the average collection rate at the time of the third estimate for a month was 94.6 percent. (See chart 1.)
Why do the jobs numbers get revised?
our markets and policymakers want data NOW but employer data dribbles in over months
1st estimate is based on the 75% of employers who respond promptly
Updates occur as more data rolls in: 95% response rate by final revision 1/N

What about 1 more improvement?

Yes, you need to copy the formula when adding new rows (unless you're in a Table), but unlike SEQUENCE:
- Allows sorting
- Allows deleting first task
- Can work in a Table
One more day left to get your talk submissions in. Also last chance to show this to someone you know has a good story but doesn't realize they should tell it!

He started with basic questions (e.g., valuation of women's football teams). But, as he pulled on the threads, the emerging details created a story that was far more fascinating.
Watch for more dominos.
There is A LOT more to his work than what's in this first article.
The author is recent grad Ben Luckner. This is the 1st article to come out of his Honors Thesis (for which I was lucky enough to be an advisor).
His research was OUTSTANDING. He pored over financial statements reconstructed cash movements to uncover obfuscated truths in teams' financial pictures.
A snippet from the article. Header: Bottom line To be clear, European women’s teams still hold long-term promise. <emphasis>The current valuations, though, are tethered to assets they don’t control, revenue that isn’t recurring and holding structures that obscure financial exposure.</emphasis> For investors looking to place capital in the space, these shouldn’t just be red flags; they should be bright, flashing warning signs.

Woman in photo is listed as Moira Gilchrist, Chief Communications Officer, PMI Text of the post: We're embracing change. We're taking risks. We're disrupting an industry we created and leaping into the heart of innovation. So says our Chief Communication Officer, @Moira Gilchrist, who knows that innovation is not without its risks.
If you're a cigarette company, maybe don't lead with "Philip Morris International recognizes the importance of taking risks...".
(I get what they're saying here, and business risks and product risks are completely different entities, but using that language is a questionable marketing decision.)
