She stands confidently in a white lab coat, facing the camera with a calm, poised expression and direct gaze. Her dark hair is elegantly styled. Behind her is a large, complex rack of mid-20th-century electronic equipment, including tangled cables, multiple control panels, dials, switches, and connectors. Prominently visible is a device labeled "CU1721" (a linear amplifier), with additional markings such as "GUIDANCE CONTROL," "FOR AC ANALYSIS," "TIME CONTROL," input/output ports, and other technical labels typical of nuclear physics instrumentation from that era. The setting captures the intensity and precision of experimental nuclear research in the post-WWII period.
Physicist Chien-Shiung Wu died #OTD in 1997.
She conducted the Wu experiment (proving parity isn't conserved) for which her male colleagues won the 1957 Nobel Prize in Physics. Her role wasn't publicly honored until she was awarded the inaugural Wolf Prize in 1978. #WomenInSTEM #MatildaEffect

I'd say that the HEP community is still open to nulls, though I wonder how long this will last.

Grazie!
However, do I understand correctly that Puerto Rico isn't a State but an "unincorporated territory" whose residents do not vote for Congress and for President?
Though they're US citizens, Puerto Ricans seem to be deprived of full representation rights, which I think confuses many, me included.
After Guantanamo, countless extra judiciary abductions and even torture of non-US citizens, it was only a matter of time for such practices to start hitting domestically.

08.02.2026 08:43 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Unsurprisingly, the climate 'skeptics' pretend to ignore that diesel fuels solidify around -12 °C and require special additives to stay sufficiently fluid down to -22 °C.
Whereas sodium batteries at -40 °C retain over 90% of their storage capacity.
Fossil fuels era is over, and it was high time.
Surely it's my eye, but the 2nd derivative looks positive. 😔

I am no expert, but I suspect that AI could be really good at this job, provided one had sufficient disk and cloud space available.
This is really a smart idea.
I look forward to further answers to this question.

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Richard Feynman has been an excellent scientist and contributed lots to physics.
Yet he was misogynistic, disrespectful of other cultures... In a word, a jerk.
And worse can be said of Isaac Newton, one should just read about what he did to Leibnitz.
