In conclusion: I'm a man, a cat, and an alien. I chew black licorice and paint pink worlds. I feel at home in poetry and walking streets covered in the autumn of crumpled receipts. I eat raspberries and soft cheese and no longer want to die. I'm wild but still hunting mice in the drywalls.

Back to my own experience, there are qualities I want to keep that are "feminine." That doesn't make me less of a man, just a different kind of man. And that's in conversation with my autistic confusion around gender norms, and the outside world's policing of gender.

"The Invert" in ye olde medical terms was the "born in the wrong body" trope. It also included femme gay men and butches. So to many people out of the know, being trans and being nonconforming are the same thing. Sometimes an identity is not just a thing you feel, it's a thing you live with.

But I also come from a western tradition of seeing gender, where doctors and culture has only somewhat moved past the idea of "the invert." Culture doesn't know that's the framework they're working with, so I'll give an example. "Why would you become a man if you could be a masculine woman?"

Being trans in any capacity is a rejection of the gender binary, and shows that your gender can be something other than penis-man or pussy-girl. You could be a pussy-man or a pussy-turned-penis-man or a penis-girl or a penis-turned-pussy-girl to name a few examples.

I also feel hesitant to call myself a "binary trans person," since I don't get the concept of a binary person. The gender binary posits that you are either penis-man or pussy-girl. And if you don't follow the correct rules for your genitals, congrats! You are bad and wrong.

I'm 100% a man with an additional more custom gender. All man with a nebulous fluid addition to make 120% gender.

Which is why terms like Bigender, Genderqueer and Nonbinary make me nervous. They overstate my connection to my confusing not-male parts of my identity.

I thought the message was too human to let it be diluted + overshadowed by typical online whataboutisms and wanted to redo + reclaim it with more touches of the furry fandom, esp being a furry myself. It's love. For some, the love of your life is in the corner of a boring furcon panel room -- even if they don't have the same "interests," it's care that bridges the gap.
