revo's linux compatibility has been spotty lately, for a while I thought it was totally broken, so as soon as I was able to get into the game again I collected all of the footage I needed for this project since there was no telling how long it'd remain playable. picking music took a LONG time though

I think after the popularity of the stop killing games campaign a lot of people are also cynical about live service games because of how consistently they lack an end of service plan and just get bricked after a certain number of years

it's just a really weird lack of commitment. if SF6 is supposed to be for new players then the new players wouldn't care about characters being replaced because they don't know about the old characters. if SF6 is for oldheads then they'd be hype about youngster characters carrying the torch finally.

lily being the replacement for t.hawk is what I wanted more of. maybe it's a little extreme but I didn't want ryu to be in the game at all, I wanted sean to be the new main shoto. I want ed to completely replace rog and I want menat to completely replace rose.

to artists: social media platforms such as this one are great for making yourself known but they are bad for archival. bsky converts all images to lossy JPG format, including transparent PNG files. please also upload your art offsite in high quality lossless formats wherever it is reasonable.

please make an effort not to spread around low quality versions of images because it can make finding the best quality version of an image more and more difficult to find.

whenever you are able and if you have the time to do so, in the case that there is an image you would like to share, try to find the highest quality version of the image instead of spreading a compressed version of the image. look for high resolutions and low compression artifacts.

unless you are deliberately trying to capture a certain aesthetic by doing so, never save a pixel art image in a lossy format such as JPG.

do not convert PNG files to JPG unless the loss of quality is minimal and the conversion results strictly in a measurable decrease in filesize. never convert PNG files to JPG if the filesize is roughly the same or greater after converting.

please check the file format of an image before you download it.
do not convert existing JPG files to PNG unless you have edited the image or have cleaned up compression artifacts yourself.

it would be sad if I could never play revo again, but I can still play final showdown and I can still play VF4 final tuned.
nothing lasts forever, but we should at least try to keep things healthy while they're still alive. we'll see what happens, it'll be okay.

hoping that VF5 revo isn't bricked on linux now; this isn't the first time an update affected linux compatibility, so I haven't given up hope for a workaround yet. if there is no workaround then the game will lose steam deck verification at least. maybe I'll be able to get a refund still.
