Like, it's a stylistic choice where what you're trying to say (where the joke is often that you're saying something simple) is buried in words you think sound big and a really juvenile understanding of biblical style text

In this case I'm thinking about it being levelled at someone complaining about what's called "Tumblr prose", a writing style which in my opinion cannot be earnest because one of its main pillars is that you're thesaurusing it up to sound profound

People often go to accuse people anyone who calls something cringe of hating "earnestness" when that's often not the case and it chafes the shit out of me.
Just because you had a formative example where that was the case does not mean these two different things always line up directly! That's silly!
