I have never seen a smoker on a hiking trail like Bluff Trail, Musquodoboit, Crowbar, etc. Maybe on big wide open multi-use rail trails like COLT or Salt Marsh? Anyway hopefully it's short-lived.

Ya I don't wanna get all "convoy" about it but it seems a bit much. I get no fires and no camping and no ATVs too but just walking on a trail? I guess the concern would be smokers dropping butts?

Hopefully they will clarify what "trail systems through woods" means. And I'm guessing a backcountry site in a provincial park (like Keji or Chignecto) doesn't count as a "campsite"

Still curious as to what ruined the first Hexclad pan… the heat, Barkeepers Friend, or scrubby. It was only left on 5 but w/ nothing in the pan for hours it'd build up a lot of heat. My bet is on the BKF tho'. The scrubby was a non-stick safe nylon not steel wool. I think it was the BKF.

We’ll see how long it lasts but so far it’s working great. It’s amazing how it can sear meat but also be non-stick. And I feel good about it being ceramic not PTFE. I imagine it’ll degrade tho’. So in hindsight I’d probably just get All Clad D3 plus cheap ceramic egg pan that I’d replace as needed.

Thankfully I somehow managed to talk support into giving me a one time replacement (I was honest about what happened… so that impressive service). And it’s been incredible now w/ near daily use for a month+. I NEVER heat above 5. NEVER forget it on the heat. And ONLY clean w/ soapy water + sponge.

Awhile ago I was posting about non-stick cookware. Tried the Always Titanium Pro w/ no coating. Didn’t live up to the hype. Tried Hexclad Ceramic. Worked great but accidentally left it on the heat once for 3+ hrs after cooking and cleaned the scorched on food w/ BKF + scrubby and it was fully FUCKED

Been experimenting w/ different dark chocolate as I don’t really trust Lindt and just splurged on a Hu bar and holy… unreal. So good! And only 4 ingredients. And no Lecithin. I love the slightly grainy texture as opposed to the high fat / butter content of most dark chocolate. Feels less processed.
