Hi, I’m David Plaxco. On this account, I share aesthetic solution states of n-layer Rubik's cubes. Otherwise, I teach math at UGA, research undergraduate mathematics education, and try to make my experiences here on earth more meaningful.

Muscle Shoals High School's most famous alum is likely Rece Davis (College GameDay host, CFB caller, and ESPN's commentator for tennis majors).
Every year, he hops college campuses all fall, seeing the best games, stays 2-3 weeks in Melbourne (January), Paris (May), London (June/July), & NYC (Sept).

My first thought was all the ASU folks - Thompson and Carlson have a section in this paper (p. 430) that sounds similar to the distinction you're making.

US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

BIG NEWS:
It seems the sub-3 barrier has been broken in speed cubing by Teodor Zajder of Poland with a 2.766 earlier today. Here’s the first video I’ve seen.

The Board of Governors decided, unilaterally, that no published textbook in the field of sociology could be used in compliance with the law for an Intro to Sociology class. None.
Victor: There's not a single existing textbook on the market that could be used that would qualify under state law?
Zachary: Correct.
Victor: I'm sorry, that's kind of funny. Like, the absurdity of not a single sociology textbook getting past the censors. I mean, it makes me kind of proud of our colleagues, but...

I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Our founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.

FYI: Tanya Khodorovskiy painstakingly made these wonderfully symmetric knot projections and identified the tangle knot arrangement to show a radius of 3. Follow her at @cubicskies.bsky.social for great Rubik’s cube art!! She’s a much more active cuber these days than I am.

a) Thanks!
b) Um ... sure? But I don't have a printer.
c) Tanya made the knot images using Inkscape and gave me the graph/map, then I used PowerPoint to make this version. :)

Here's a PDF & .ppt in Dropbox.

Since writing that paper, Tanya Khodorovski and I have identified 54 distinct knots/links among the 224 patterns we found in the paper. Applying the reflection symmetry of the cube reduced the count to 128, then we manually reduced it to 54.
