11.10.2025 19:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Weekend Caltrain, every train has limited seating:
11.10.2025 19:00 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It is much more simple than that: surfeit free parking -> higher prices on the shelves. The ground lease must be paid somehow.
11.10.2025 18:32 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If you have to drive to obtain life-sustaining groceries at livable prices then your community has failed you. TJs should charge for parking so that prices donโt reflect your parking subsidy
11.10.2025 18:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thank you for your leadership on SB 79โour most fire protected and defensible locations in California are near existing public transit corridors. Denser, smarter land use will make our state more resilient, in facing off with NIMBYs who donโt care for othersโ fire risk exposure while using FAIR plan
11.10.2025 11:31 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0MAJOR NEWS: @GavinNewsom signed SB 79, my bill allowing more housing near public transit โ rail, subway, rapid bus.
Itโs a huge step for housing in California. Itโll create more homes, strengthen our transit systems & reduce traffic & carbon emissions.
Thank you, Governor!
Oh ho ho! Look what the cat dragged in...
10.10.2025 19:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thank you @governor.ca.gov for taking bold leadership in addressing the housing + climate crisis in our state! Signing SB 79 means more housing in our cities, less housing at the wildland-urban interface where victims of fires like Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Paradise suffered tremendously.

08.10.2025 17:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Updated this chart because it was missing an important option. You don't need to use an e-bike for all trips for it to save you a lot of money!
$0.70/100 miles is also a worst-case scenario. Your cost is likely much cheaper than this.

08.10.2025 02:03 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.
They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.
You have to laugh: the scope of this "micromobility hub project" is re-poured curb cuts at a couple of crosswalks & some painted bicycle logos in the street. Total cost $350k. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am--how's that for "micromobility"?! ๐

07.10.2025 15:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0For those without enough home space to comfortably work from home it is a reprieve. Otherwise theyโre paying more (rent or buy) for more residential WFH space that they pay out of pocket, post-tax. Office mandates are not a fringe benefit, but having a paid-for office you can optionally visit is
07.10.2025 14:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Meanwhile I have coworkers who jokingly say that they only come to the office to take advantage of free charging for their EVs. I myself go to the office irregularly (my boss and boss's boss both work fully remotely ex-California, where my employer's based)--I am speaking only on my own behalf.
06.10.2025 19:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0To me, the pronounced divergence in commercial vs. residential property prices will be felt for a century to come. Laboring requires space--not for children. Offices are an untaxed employee fringe benefit--but employees have to pay to live and commute there to obtain the benefit!
06.10.2025 19:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0The COVID shelter-in-place guidance and resulting work-from-home boom has resulted in a massive shift in land use (and property values). What are some the most interesting changes, in your eyes?
