Backlit low buildings on a wintery landscape. Behind them in the centre, the sun is rising. On either side are two perfect sun dogs, and a near halo is seen around them.

Under fascism, no one is safe.

Universities stayed quiet as the admin targeted DEI & foreign aid, censored research, etc.

Now, they face devastating cuts to indirect cost rates, threatening research & operations.

Silence won’t protect institutions. It won’t protect people; it never does.

Autism Isn’t To Blame For Bad Behavior | The Nib Autism is a developmental disability, not an attitude or personality.

About a 10 by 5cm chunk of sandy rock with little black flecks in it, being held by someone with navy nail polish.

It may not look like much, but this chunk is from the stomach of a mosasaur that died ~80 million years ago, and is chock-full of fossil teeth and bones. Really excited to see what our undergrad volunteers will find in those gut contents this semester! 🧪 #FossilFriday

We Need A New Deal To Save Local Journalism | Defector During the first week of the fires, I would go up to my building’s roof once a day. I’d look at the Los Angeles skyline at whatever shade of yellow-orange-brown muck the fires had delivered that day…

Screen shot of a statement by the Palestinian youth movement on ig:

The loss our people have experienced is without measure and beyond all language. Our martyrs are the crowns above our heads, and we will honor each and every one of them and their sacrifice through everything we do in the months and years ahead. We will never forgive or forget. Palestine has awoken the world to the necessity of long-term struggle to build a future free of colonization and oppression. Zionism and imperialism will fall because ideologies predicated on genocide, displacement, and domination are incompatible with the forward march of humanity and will always be met with resistance. That is why we say that liberation is not only possible, it is inevitable. Ceasefire today, liberation tomorrow.

If it’s true that a ceasefire agreement has been reached, it’s more important than ever to donate to Gazan fundraisers.

Here are some campaigns that truly need your help that @divyampersaud.com has been working tirelessly to get more donations in - please share and donate! Every little bit helps!

I think when you consume art you just have to know that it was made by people and people can be bad, even evil. It’s up to you to decide where your personal line is to continue to enjoy their work or not. For me it’s kinda case-by-case. But there is no category of person that is “safe”.

Just a reminder that if there is a ceasefire the need among people from Gaza here will still be there- some people will want to raise money to evacuate and some will want to rebuild and they all will still need help to survive ❤️
