Problem is even bigger than that - I posted a little bit ago that the bellows are completely disconnected from one side of the chassis - it's no wonder there's a leak!

Got my tube of Pliobond out and will reattach that, unbend that tab, and put new seals on the door corners!

Fingers crossed.

I hear you. My floaters exploded earlier this year in my right eye after a morning of lightning flashes - talk about disorienting.

Goddammit. This getting old shit sucks sometimes.

Another good tip - thanks! The other thing I was thinking was a liquid fabric, but the gaffers tape sounds like the best idea. I'm going to try re-sealing the corners of the film door and fix that tab first, shoot half a roll, put a temporary strip of electrical tape and shoot the other half.

Thanks for the tip! Did more homework on this thing: I think the bulk of this could be tiny, deteriorating light seals on the corners of the film door, plus a bent tab right across from it. Will probably put new seals on, unbend the tab, shoot 4 pics, then add tape to the bellows & shoot the last 4.

Holy crap, yes - and the smell is only part of it - there's a heavy brown... residue? all over the interior of this poor thing - like it was kept open on a shelf in some dude's cigar-haven man-cave.

Thankfully it's not in the back / film area.

Now getting bellows + all inner surface nooks and crannies clean from a thick, gross layer of brown 'stuff'.

Voigtlander Bessa II, the only camera I've ever regretted not buying when I had the opportunity a few years ago.

The Voigtlander Bessa II arrived last night in better condition than I expected. Slow speeds are slow, bulb mode is iffy, but lens is good, body is solid. I'm happy.

The biggest issue: it smells like an ashtray + it's filthy gross.

An aside: Transcribe is so much fun that sometimes my wife and I will just sit there coming up w/ fun strings of curse words just to watch it write it all out. I guess it's kinda like testing the sign language interpreter to see if they'll sign it without hesitation (never seen one hesitate yet)...

Google's weird about this in some circumstances / apps, too. I'm deaf and use Google Live Transcribe frequently - it transcribes word for word, no censoring. But when I use the captions feature in Google Meet, I get "coc*******" and "mother******" 🤷
